RCSparks T.T.C – The Lost Files

This was a special video I created as a Christmas treat for all the Axle Twisters T.T.C fans out there in cyber-land. It was my last video I created for 2010 – and thought it only fitting that it was extra-awesome. The below post is an original I put into various forums, so that people could find this little gem, and enjoy it for the new year of 2011 to come.

Excerpt:

“It’s been a pleasure showing you the wonderful world of RC this year.. thank you SO MUCH For showing your support of the RC Adventure series by commenting and sharing all the videos! Its pretty cold right now for some of us in the world.. so I have decided to dig into the RC Adventures vault and get something for us to look forward to! Blistering heat and fun scaling!! Most of the footage you are about to see, is shots that were AWESOME.. but just didnt make the other series because of time constraints. Well.. now is their time to be shown!

I worked extra hard on this one for you folks.. partnering with a Rapper “Alkaline” to match up a wicked Track for a Fun T.T.C video for all y’all! In Memory and Honor of a Fallen Crawler.. Jordan ‘Kronk’ Figenshau 1984-2010

Axle Twisters RC Group – T.T.C. 2010

With the enormous success of the Axle Twisters Scale Tough Truck Competition in 2009, it was a pleasure to see that the event continued into the following year.

Once again, the RC Club put on a smashing event.. with plenty of Carnage, Broken Parts.. and Amazing Performances by both the drivers and event organizers. 2010 was one to remember.. more custom rigs, and sloppy times as just prior to the event a down a sudden onslaught of rain poured down from the heavens making the courses so sloppy.. it was hard not getting stuck.. just walking to the first event! It was a true gift from the RC Gods that day.. and as soon as the down pour began – it stopped! 20 minutes of rain.. and the clouds parted, the Blazing August Sun appeared.. and the rest of the day was a scorcher! Too good to be true..

So, in true RC ADVENTURES style.. I grabbed my camera.. and got down and dirty.. both competing in this event with my Beefed up Axial Honcho MT conversion.. and filming that fantastic event as it unfolded. And with a special thanks to a few other videographers on locations.. some of the shots of that years Axle Twisters T.T.C event werte absolutely spectacular!

Enjoy ~

Axle Twisters RC Group – T.T.C 2009

Quoting WikiPedia – “Tough Truck competitions can be dated back to the first 4×4 clubs.[when?] Friends and other club members would navigate across obstacles courses built to test the vehicle and the drivers capabilities, thus proving who has the “toughest” truck. During 1988 and 1989, these events became extremely popular, and with that, 1990 saw the first designated Tough Truck events.”

Well now the hobby of RC and scale truck building has been taken to the next level. In celebration of the 1:1 Scale Competitions.. 1/10 th Scale RC Competitions were inevitable!

I am very fortunate to have run into such a great group called “The Axle Twisters RC Club” in Lethbridge Alberta. In 2009, They held western Canada’s first ever RC Tough Truck Competition. The Axle Twisters hosted the event, and invited Scale builders to make their own versions of TTC trucks. People built their rigs for months.. travelled 100′s of kilometers.. and in the late summer month of August 2009 – they tested their mite, rigs and skill against brutal courses, blazing Sun, and some of the most well built rigs Western Canada had to offer. For more information about the rules and regulations of this now extremely popular RC Sport.. please visit www.CrawlCanada.com. Check out the Club section for the Axle Twisters.. and tell them RCSparks sent ya. They are a great group of enthusiasts.

Enjoy!

The CONCEPT X – EDF JET

Lmao.. shortest Blog entry for me yet.. but still a great video for those interested in a good EDF jet. Meant for more of an intermediate pilot, I had one of my friends fly this for me during the demo video… We concluded that this Jet needed a 4s Lipo battery upgrade.. but over all.. it was a fun little Jet to get started with. I am happy to say (coincidentally), that the distributors are now offering the 4S option when the bird is purchased.. Cool!

This is my first build video for “NitroPlanes”, and I chose to build their new flagship EDF Jet, the Concept X. This model is an RTF version. This video is not a “step-by-step” DIY, instead a Tips, Tricks, and a general overview.

Enjoy my fellow pilots!

Project Drift: TAMIYA TT01R Archive

For this posting / build series -.. I really want to take a moment and talk about my limited amount of knowledge in this area.. and it is truly a shame. Drifting is unlike any other type of car racing that I have seen.. truly a lot of skill has to be learned – and respected. If driven by the right people, being practicing and gifted with the talent of control – this RC spart of growing like wild fire. Truly an amazing this to watch, experience and master.

For this particular build.. I had no experience at all in putting together a drift car… but found out its fun, a challenge and a consistently changing type of RC Kit. To dial these little machines in is NO EASY task! Totally awesome.. and I suggest that you give it a try, if the urge strikes.

So.. Here is how I attacked my TT01 Kit.. and made it into my Drift / Touring Kit of the season. Lot’s of fun! ( And for the record.. Im a terrible drifter.. Lol)

Tamiya Toyota Tundra High Lift 4X4

Wow…

Amazing how I look back and see how the concept of RC Adventures was truly born.. Many people ask me about this Giant of an RC.. and how I was involved in doing such a build.
It is a unique story..

I remember drooling over these very expensive kits, well over half a decade ago. So original kit itself – without any upgrades – was fairly pricey (ie: 750 USD), and came with no radio, no electronics, and no battery. Just the parts to put together an AWESOME looking scale truck. Well.. as I knew if I took on a project like this.. that there is no way I could actually just leave it stock. This was to be my first ever – scale trail truck. I had caught the scale bug in a BIG way. So.. having a pretty good relationship with one of the local hobby stores, I approached the manager 7 the marketing director – and mentioned that I had an idea…
