Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT short course truck brushless motor/ESC combo Help

I just bought the Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT short course truck brushless motor/ESC combo for my 2wd slash, and was just wondering if it's normal for the motor to be stiff when pushing the slash by hand? If this is not right how can I fix this?

    Thanks

does it feel notchy? is the gear mesh ok?(between the pinion and the spur) not too tight?? if all drive line and gear mesh is all good, then yeah i reckon. what you can feel, is the magnets in the motor. nothing to be worried about.

does the motor feel chunky when you spin the shaft out side of the truck? I only ask because I got the same kit with the 3800Kv motor, first thing I did was try to turn the motor by hand and it seemed really chunky and stiff, did some research and apparently its supposed to feel like that.. I guess its something with the Castle 4POLE motors,

When I installed the motor I made sure the pinion gear was inline with spur gear, then put a small piece of paper in between gears then tightened. I pulled out the paper. Feels notchy when push by hand. I guess this is normal by the sounds of other reply in this thread. Does anyone find when giving the car some throttle is sound like theirs a binding or grinding problem as it kinda make a CCCCCC!! sound for a short second?

    Thank to all that replied
