I think it gets a little cheated. when it says RTR. you get a battery and charger for the car. but it takes several hours to recharge it! now I have fast chargers. but all who are beginners. I think, they did not know it. or?

I know what you mean lol, but RTR just means that you don't have to build anything lol!!
mmm. but I paid $ 500 for the car. expect a little bit better charger.

i know whot you mean i wish the rtr nitro rcs you could just fill it with fuel and go but you have to go thru the brake in prosidure which when you have someone naging to have a go it gets realy anoying
My break in process involves 2 steps.
Step 1- fill with fuel
Step 2- go all out and so what u loose like a few tanks in the long run. But man break ins take forever.

I thought that it was not too bad of traxxas to include battery and charger sure the charger is pretty average but it works and gets you going straight away untill you upgrade. On my wifes sc10 it came with nothing so had to wait another week for the batteries and charger to turn up and that sucked having a brand new toy sitting in front of you and not being able to use it.
Buy a nice lipo charger and a few packs a HobbyKing and tear it up.
My HPI Savage XS is also classed as RTR but comes without a battery or charger. Most people are very picky about either the batteries they use or the charger they need. And as was mentioned before by someone else you will buy lipos and a charger if you really want to see it rip.
People are really starting to get jaded about the term RTR. Sure it would be nice to not have to buy anything out of the box but look at what you do get out of the box. Look at the HPI Sprint Flux 2. Comes with a 7 cell battery that won't even make the car do anything. It stutters so bad at low speed and shuts off when you turn. The fix? Buy a lipo BATTERY which means you need to buy a CHARGER.
Even with a nitro you need to buy stuff. Sure they could include everything you need to get you going. No problems. But then people would whine that the glow igniter isn't the right one. The glow plugs are garbage and you need to use these ones. This charger STILL sucks. And now this $200 RTR is $600.
This is where your LHS comes in. With any of the Traxxas vehicles, I tell people upfront that the chargers are crap. As much as it sucks to know that you won't use something that came in box, most people appreciate the honesty. I am one of those people that would like the bare minimum included and then I choose what I want. I'd rather not pay the extra $15-20 that they charge for this chargers when I can get one that I'd hands down better for an extra $10.
Good point but alot of newbs can stand the wait better than addicts. Also if they want they can get a charger for $40
