Today I'm hitting the trails with my Axial SCX10 in order to find out how far a 3-cell 3200 mAh battery will actually take me.

My Axial features a few alterations compared to stock; larger wheels, a Tekin FXR 35t motor setup and a few added accessories. What I wanted to find out was what distance I could cover, starting from my home and taking it up in the forest around where I live. I used the RunKeeper app on my iPhone to keep track of the distance covered, as the car and myself move over various obstacles and surfaces.

I think as an average reference to the durability of a battery pack this has been a fair test. I understand that you may get different results with a different setup, so by all means: don't take this test too serious, it's all about having fun!

Discovered some sweet trails on the top of Sumas mountain in Abbotsford, B.C. Loaded up the Axial SCX-10 Jeep Rubicon with the 4x Family and headed for an adventure in the woods. Project REVO Rebirth is all about our truck's journey back to good health after a string of crashes: from minor to dramatic, with a corresponding range of results. When the chassis broke, and then broke again, we decided it was time to start fresh with a new one.

Since we were basically taking the whole truck apart, we thought it made sense to upgrade a couple of parts. We also are going to add on a few things through the course of the project. First, a chassis brace, then, hopefully, a roll cage. Broken and worn front bumpers and mounts are being upgraded to RPM versions. Finally, a Traxxas wheelie bar should help keep us from doing so much damage to the truck all the time!

This is the first in a series, the final number of installments yet to be determined. Links will be posted here as further installments are uploaded:

I'm working on my next project, another largescale onroad car. It's an FG Sportsline 2WD 530. This car is going to be turned into a 1970 Dodge Challenger with classic paint.

I'm waiting for my electronics and the big horsepower engine to arrive. In the meantime I give the body a coat of paint. The paintjob is inspired by Roy Johnson's 1970 Dodge Challenger. This iconic vehicle was replicated, in a modern version in 2010, when his son Allen gave him a 2010 Dodge Challenger with a full Mopar Drag Pak trim. I decided to switch the colours on this paintscheme, but use the modern 2013 Mopar colours. The gunmetal, the blue and the white work well with all the original lines, and gives the FG a nice, murdered out look.

This build is going to have a ton of special features, a few of them rather unique, and I will take you through the whole build process step by step so if you want to, you can follow along. Make sure to subscribe to see what the 2WD will turn into, so far I can reveal this much: it will pach a true punch, will represent an icon of it's era, and will be unlike any RC you have ever seen before!

The LST has been successfully converted...IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D I can't believe how much power this thing has on 4s...Powering this truck, is a 2200KV Brushless motor with a Mamba Monster 2 ESC, and that's powered by two 2s 5000mAh Gens ACE Lipo hooked up in series. POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I got to say. :)

I'm working on my next project, another largescale onroad car. It's an FG Sportsline 2WD 530. This car is going to be turned into a 1970 Dodge Challenger! Today I'm making my own wheelie bar and a custom set of rear tires.

I couldn't find any scale looking wheelie bars for this monster-to-be, so I decided to construct my own. I took some Axial balljoints and rodends, that I had as spares. These parts, listed in the links below, are intended for the 4-link suspension setup of the Axial SCX10. By adding some M4 threaded rods, slid into some 6mm aluminium tubing, I can line the whole construction up for my needs. I added a modified bodypost from the same parts tree to mount the top to the rear shocktower. On the rear, I slid some of the aluminium tubing through the 4 rodends to connect them, and used an Axial winchblock to act as a "wheel" in between them. The functionality of the wheelie bar is not as important as the look. And, I wanted to keep the cost low. A wheelie bar like this will end up costing you around 20 dollar.

I get started on my next project, another largescale onroad car. It's an FG Sportsline 2WD 530. This car is going to be turned into a 1970 Dodge Challenger! In order to get the look I want, I decided to mix some diecast in with the RC. I use a diecast supercharged V8 engine, that you can find for anywhere between 30 and 40 dollars, to start my build with.

The diecast engine will be mounted over the front shock tower, covering up some of the brake mechanics. I improvise the mounting of the piece, and tell you what kind of tools I used and issues I ran into. The engine will be looks only, the powerplant of the car will be replaced with a special, more powerful unit during the build.

To mount the engine, I used the engine display mount that came with to tie down the rear, and for the front I used some spare parts from my Axial Exo Terra:

We took Cyrus the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the E REVO Brushless to two different 'Urban Woods' locations in Toronto and had a blast romping around. On one of the shoots, my dear old Ma even came along to shoot some pictures for us.

As usual, the lovely and talented Mrs. Wattz is on the video camera.

The truck is the E REVO Brushless Edition running on 4s LIPO. On one day, we ran the stock body with a relatively low ride height, while the other day we ran the Pro-Line GMC Topkick body with the ride height jacked up. For both shoots, as usual, we ran the optional 'long-travel rocker arms' that came with the truck.

The locations are:
- Near the Old Mill Subway station, Humber River Valley
- Rosehill Resevoir Ravine, near St. Clair Subway Station

On the trail last night at Old refinery Park / ORP .
Playing on a pond that had a log in a hole , like a log roll or a Dyno .
I messed around for a bit then talked Penguin into going out and trying do a log roll on it .
He dislodged the log and his truck went halfway in the hole . lol
Ice is thin , water is deep , and its gross , lol

We were working it with a truck and a towline , trying to make the recovery .
while we were doing that my buddy Barry / Anger Offroad came up with a solution of his own !
Piece of cake , He's got a new recovery tool in mind . gonna be sweet .

The Calgary Crawlers is a club that was formed in my Garage based on competition grade scale rock crawlers .
We started out crawling in my garage , a small single bay garage with addition .
As well as the friday night comps we hold every friday night , We also do a Winter and Summer series consisting of six comps per series . Summer series comps are held in outdoor locations .
As the club grew we needed more space .
PM Hobby approached me with an offer to move our course / club in store .
Great plan ! we now have more room , more members , Pm is great place to have our club . lots to do , lots goin going friday nights .
We hold 64 comps a year , Summer series are outdoors , the rest are held at Crawler Teds Garage ,located in back of PM Hobby south location . every friday night and last sunday of every month .

From the skatepark we head to another park , past a couple bars , stop at McDonalds .
Over to Olympic Plaza , And out through Prince's Island .
This section was late night so all night footage , lights on .

Some cool rigs , trailers , And street lights and street signs and ,,, crazy . Different for sure . Lots of fun !

I started this channel as a way to showcase the RC crawling action in my garage .
It soon spread to cover all aspects of the RC Hobby and lifestyle in Calgary .
The Calgary Crawlers is a club that was formed in my Garage based on competition grade scale rock crawlers .
We started out crawling in my garage , a small single bay garage with addition .
As well as the friday night comps we hold every friday night , We also do a Winter and Summer series consisting of six comps per series . Summer series comps are held in outdoor locations .
As the club grew we needed more space .
PM Hobby approached me with an offer to move our course / club in store .
Great plan ! we now have more room , more members , Pm is great place to have our club . lots to do , lots goin going friday nights .
We hold 64 comps a year , Summer series are outdoors , the rest are held at Crawler Teds Garage ,located in back of PM Hobby south location . every friday night and last sunday of every month .
More good stuff coming soon at Pm , Stay Tuned !!

We are looking for drivers for our Sportsman class, seems to be taking off .
Shoot me a message on the forums or pop in Pm south on a friday night .

As well as Comp crawling we also do a lot of trailing as you have seen .
So many awesome trails in and around Calgary . Great for running the Scx-10's , Wraith's , Summit's whatever you have .
Doesn't matter , If its RC you will probably find a video at Crawler Teds Garage

This is the second video of three from the CTG Urban Assault last weekend .
About 28 trucks of all types headed into the core .
A cool, wet dreary evening , bit of rain , ice fog . Perfect conditions for an Assault on the core .
After our run in with the CBC reporter , we make our way across the Peace Bridge to the first pit stop area .
Couple repairs to be made .
Form here we are heading to the Shaw Millenium skate park !!
A little skatepark bash in the middle of a trail run !! How cool is that ??
Too much fun at the skatepark ,, I unfortunatley was changing out the tranny in my scx for most of the time at skatepark .
Good thing my buddy JD was on camera !

I get started on my next project, another largescale onroad car. It's an FG Sportsline 2WD 530. This car is going to be turned into a 1970 Dodge Challenger! In order to get the look I want, I decided to mix some diecast in with the RC. I use a diecast supercharged V8 engine, that you can find for anywhere between 30 and 40 dollars, to start my build with.

The diecast engine will be mounted over the front shock tower, covering up some of the brake mechanics. I improvise the mounting of the piece, and tell you what kind of tools I used and issues I ran into. The engine will be looks only, the powerplant of the car will be replaced with a special, more powerful unit during the build.

This build is going to have a ton of special features, a few of them rather unique, and I will take you through the whole build process step by step so if you want to, you can follow along. Make sure to subscribe to see what the 2WD will turn into, so far I can reveal this much: it will pach a true punch, will represent an icon of it's era, and will be unlike any RC you have ever seen before!
