I've been noticing this really weird ''POP'' noise coming from somewhere in my drive-train (it's not the drive shaft's popping off)...This really can't be good :yourkidding: Nothing seems to be striping, I took the Transmission apart, to take a look, nothing striped in there...Could it be one of the drive shaft's? (the stock plastic one's)...I need a excuse to get something shiny and metal. :secret laugh: Lol. Any ideas, guys? :wut:

I am looking to replace it with something with a tad more throw..
I think the one I have is like a 10mm or something as it looks like it was meant for a onroader...

Hi all

Today I charged up 4 battery's and decided to go down to my local trailing spot. My trailing spot is located next to a river... (I think you can see where this is going) ... As I was driving I chose to go a bit further down towards the river, while walking down I slipped on a wet slippery rock, controller flies into the air and into the river!, as soon as it hit the water I noticed my truck reverse into the river! Both fully submerged! I don't think I have ever jumped into a river so quickly! Grabbed the controller...... But no truck?!? Gone!... Until I noticed the led's 7metres away! Threw the controller behind me and chased after it, the current was so strong!... Got it! Dragged it up the bank... It was still Alive? No shorts? Nothing! ( I hadn't even waterproofed the truck) well. To be safe I took it away from the river and went home.

After drying and "ricing" my rig, I dried the controller.plugged in a fresh battery and off it went! So shocked that it is still alive!

Just thought I should share my tragedy with you all!

Yesterday 11 of us got together for our first...

Yesterday 11 of us got together for our first trail run of the season. First my wraith motor burnt up with a nice puff and stream of smoke within the first 30 minutes of running and then a few minutes later 2 more rigs burnt their motors up also , though I came prepared with a few extra motors and I was back up and running in no time. The ironic thing was that 3 of us put our stock 20t motors back in our trucks the night before without each other knowing...lol. I guess I should have left my 35t in the truck after all.lol. I personally just wanted to see how the stock motor would do and now I know. The other 2 were lucky I had 4 extra Novak 35t rockstars with me all prewired and ready to go. Burnt up motors and all we still had a great time. I was surprised to see the 35t rockstars perform well considering they have been used and abused in my XR10 crawler for a few years. I dont normally bring 4 spare motors with me , but being that we were 3 hours away from home I had this little voice in my head tell me to bring a few extras..lol Now I know that having that extra weight of the motors in my backpack was worth it. With all the extra parts that everyone had I bet we could have built 2 more wraiths out on the trail.lol. So if you ever question yourself about bringing extra parts with you , JUST DO IT !!!! There is no fun having to carry you RC when you dont have spare parts with you. cheers

Well.. Not much.. I don't expect it to be a trail rig but more of something I can run on the street without worrying too much about bashing the snot of my my TT-01..
With a little work.. it could be a good rally car or a Good mud runner...
$345 was the shelf price and the guy made the mistake of complaining that "it has been sitting on the Shelf since they got it back in 2009"

Now I have seen this Model go as high as $350 Plus postage and are now rare as !
I didnt Pay that...
I asked him what was as low as he was prepared to go and he said $310...... I made him an offer of $300.. and he took it..
So I went down to buy paint... Came home with a DF-01...

On my scx10, stock esc and 55T on a locked trany. It acts like it has absolutely no power when climbing taller obstacles and before it would just spin all 4's, now it just loses power when it gets in that situation. Still using the stock radio and receiver, the green light flashes when the truck is in motion and red light stays on... Im not too sure what all this means, But if someone can shed some light on this problem, it'd be appreciated. thanks

Axial Wraith Battery mod

Hey guys and gals. Well I just could not take it...

Hey guys and gals. Well I just could not take it anymore and had to move the battery up front in the wraith. I just took a couple of pictures of what I did and I hope to get out tomorrow with it for a test run.

Got it tore down to start the mod. Moved the esc and switch to the back and have the wires ran. Plus removed some of the inside body panel.

Battery in place, esc attached to rear battery box with double sided tape, on off switch attached to the rear end of battery box with double sided tape as well.

Better shot of how the battery is sitting in the front end. It sits nice on the tab where the esc use to sit. Had to remove some more of the body panel so the battery would fit and still be held snug by the body panel and the radio box. I also have a couple of small pieces of foam that goes in on the sides for a little more support.

All back together and ready for a run.

Hey guys, need some advice for my next build. My grandfather is retiring within the next few years and I have an awesome scale build idea as a present. He started his own construction company about 35 years ago and the business is still going strong today.
I want to build him either a scale pickup with a utility bed or a single axle, possibly dual axle dump truck with his company logo on the side. Going to be a shelf queen but I want to make it fully functional.

That being said I'm looking for the best material for making the dump bed or pickup utility bed. I hear styrene is a good material for scale vehicles but that's what I've heard. Do any of you have experience with this or any other building material that is good for custom builds.

Also, what would be a good, scale platform for this build. I have only had experience with axial for my scale projects. Was thinking about using a trail honcho or even a custom chassis.

As always, all input is greatly appreciated from anyone

Probably won't hold up under heavy stress but it will allow you to at least do a little running. What I used was some high strength J-B Weld at almost 4000 psi strength. If anybody else has tried this let me know how it went for you.

Well the weather was a lot better than I thought...

Well the weather was a lot better than I thought it would be so the girlfriend, my son and I decided to go for a family drive.

Attempt #1
I had planned on a nice long drive then about 3 minutes in, my son was running behind the ridgecrest and tripped over the mini revo and did a face plant on the concrete sidewalk. Bruised and scraped his nose, knee and elbow pretty nasty. :ouch:Not to mention the blood curdling scream that came with it. If I never hear that again it'll be too soon. :tttt:
Took him back to the house cleaned the dirt out of his mouth and wounds, patched him up and he asked if we could continue the drive.

Attempt#2
Started driving again, in a nice tight formation, this time with my son glued to my side and we get about 10 minutes from the house and the screw that holds the horn on the servo for the Wraith, backed itself out and partially stripped the teeth on the horn. Told my girl I should have taken the weights out of those front wheels and forgot, or at least move the weighted wheels to the rear for this drive. Shortly after my son started complaining about his scrapes burning him. Sweat getting in there and all. Went back home, cleaned the little guy up, put a little baby neosporin on him and put him down for a nap.

In short I have no cool pics but my son has some RC scars from the short drive. I ended up getting on TowerHobbies while he's been asleep and I've been pretty bad.:evilish:

Picked up a new Axial 25 tooth Aluminum servo horn for the Wraith
and a little something for me...
TowerHobbies.com | Axial EXO Terra Buggy 4WD EP RTR

Total cost for both pieces came out to 285.00 with a $30.00 member discount code they were offering. I love Tower!

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for pics. Take care everybody.

Finally got to take the honcho out.

Hey guys I bought the rtr honcho and have not...

Hey guys I bought the rtr honcho and have not until today been able to to get it out on some trails.

I've built some links for the rear and lower links for the front. I didn't have enough rod ends to do the upper 4 link for the front or the steering linkage. Since I have replaced what links I have the steering really shows how weak the plastic links are. But it runs much much better than it did. I pasti dipped all the electronics and marine greased the front axle, have yet to get the trans or rear axle done. Will do asap. I also dropped some plasti dip over the air holes in the wheels to keep water out of them. Works well tires still flex decent I may redo it an put a little weight on the wheels as they dry to kinda lower the air pressure.

One thing though.. how am I supposed to put the front 4 link on with out any longer hard ware? Where can I find some extra hardware there are several things I'd like to do but don't have any extra hardware.

I'm very impressed and happy with this truck. I'm trying now to decide what body I want to go with. And what to do about wheels and tires.

Couple pics from the day..

I've been wanting to run a open diff for the front axel of my wraith for a while now. I'm just woundering if any of you have tried this mod, and what parts are needed. I understand that the exo uses the same diff cups as the wraith. Can I just buy the spider gears for the exo and use those? Or will I need additional parts to make it work?
