How Do I Post?! What is a Thread ?

Hello my friends! i have had a request or two on HOW to POST in the Forums. So I figured I would do a visual tutorial to help you guys out!

    Let see here...

The basic description of a forum is:

    fo·rum/?fôr?m/Noun

    1. A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular topics can be exchanged.

    2. An Internet message board.

The RCSparks Forum is laid out into "Categories", "Threads", and "Posts"

    A) Here is an Example of what the forum looks like when you first arrive. (Minus the Yellow Lines)

The Yellow Highlighted area I did for you in this tutorial to show how the Forum is categorized.

Categories on the left hand side. These are important to keep an order to where people can share relevant information.

The "Last Post" on the Right hand side, is the Last Message that has been left in that particular Category. the last post will also show the Date and Time of the message.

    B) Now, if you were to select a Category, because you want to read, or add information - you simply CLICK THE Category Title.

    C) When you click the title of the category - it will open all of the "Threads" (another word for "Topics") threads are the list of Topics available in that particular Category. here is an example of what the list of Threads will look like

In this list you will notice different ICONS on the Left Hand Side.

The Icons depict what has been occurring with the threads (topics)

Some common icons are "Red='s HOT TOPIC", "Yellow='s Moved Topic/ re-categorized", and "Grey ='s New Thread"

Also, you can see in the above picture.. How many times a Thread has been read, responded to , and the Last Reply in that Thread

    D) If you want to START A THREAD, or Reply to a Thread Look at the Examples Below!

How to Reply to a THREAD - the BUTTON

How to START A NEW THREAD

Where to Type Content and HOW TO POST!

To Post PICTURES and VIDEOS - please click the Below Link to Read a Tutorial!

    http://www.rcsparks.com/forum/questi...deo-forum.html

    Hope that helps you guys!!

Post here if you need any help!

I put my mobile phone into "airplane mode" and threw it. Worst. Transformer. ...Ever.

What happens if you make a mistake and want to delete a post or thread? I can't find the button anywhere. does it have to be done by a mod? Sorry for my Noobness. Kind of new to the whole forum thing

I'd say let one of the mods know if they're available (or via a PM) or post a reply to that effect in the thread and it'll be looked into.

When a green arrow appears in the envelope icon, it means that you posted on that thread.

You can try hovering your cursor over that icon. It will tell you that you have posted in that thread.

    Hope that helps.

As far as I know there are NO Blogs on this forum at least none that I have seen. A few members like ChasinRC and TNCrawler and myself have our own blogs though but not on the forums here.

There is no personal blog feature as such (if you are referring to one such like the one at RCGroups), I'm afraid. The blog on the main page is populated by Medic with chosen snippets

That is for the Elite Members that pay for a subscription. It's one of a few different features you get. If you would like to learn more about it go to the very top and you will see a tab that says Support RCSparks. There you can check out the Elite Membership.

    posting a new thread

hey medic (or anyone who can help)
when I go to post a new thread it says I either do not have permission or have not been activated.
what does this mean and how can it be fixed. I really want to post new threads and be apart of the community at rcsparks.com

Well, you posted this one ok.. so I am assuming you are actually trying to post in a Reserved "Elite member" / Supporting member area..

BUT! You do have access to almost the Entire site with the account you have now!
