Ok so I need an esc and I can convert my Super cub to brushless ....
    I have a Turnigy ( don't be mad Robsco) c3536-1100 areo drive brushless outrunner I have a mount and servo's ( hs-55 hoping that'll be good?)
What amp of an esc would be right , a little more that enough would be ok also ......
Now I just started thinking the servo's might be to small ?

    What do Ya think

    Thanks
    Capt

Servos should be fine, they're pretty close to the original Hobbyzone ones in there.

Specs for that motor say it'll do 30A with bursts of up to 35A. so based on that you'd probably want a 40A esc, but I suspect it won't really pull 30A even.

If you know someone with a spare ESC and a power meter you can test ou what it'll actually pull...

Yeah go for overkill. I had an issue with one of my HK motors. I thought something was really wrong with my stuff until I found out it was pulling 20more amps then advertised with the prop I had on. Now I just have a big 50amp esc and it all runs cool.

I have hs-55s in my super cub, they work great. You are going to LOVE the extra power the brushless gives you! So much more fun with crazy thrust. My cubby will climb straight up just about as fast as it will go down haha The only issue I have had is there is so much wind speed generated by the extra power that its blowing the plastic wrapping off of the entire tail section. I had to packing tape the whole tail to keep it on!

Your dead to me Capt... DEAD you hear!!!

Jking, holy don't cry. HS-55's are great. I don't know anything about the rest.. Heres what I did with mine..

    Park 480 outrunner,
    Castle Ice 75 ESC
    APS 10x10

Drew about 65 amps, probably 70 km/h... Scary fast for a supercub.

ESC Rule of thumb is always go bigger then you intend to draw. Even if you don't use all the amps necessary atleast you can put it in a larger plane in the future. An AMP meter is a must, it will allow you to play with props safely until you find just the right one you like..

You can also try using a "Prop Calculator" found here eCalc: propCalc - Propeller eMotor Calculator?? (c) by Markus M?ller
Input the prop, esc of similar specs, and motor of similar specs and it will give you TONES of information you Must know.. It works VERY well. told me I was going to over draw my Yak 54 by 20 amps... Hit 95 amps.. Yup to high

Give that a try at the very least, it will give you some insight as to what you will need..
