    first real damage on a ultra-micro p-51

thought I would fly my parkzone ultra-micro p-51 today but that was a mistake, first off this plane is crazy strong, I must have crashed over 10 times before with nothing breaking, until today muahahaha... I have no idea what happened I was just fly'in along when half the rudder snapped off and was dangling behind it of course there was no saving it as it hurled into the ground 30 feet away, usually that's fine but when there is 3 and a half feet of snow on the ground hello frozen feet now the wings are bent, the rudder is half gone and the motor keeps cutting out? also there is a 1 second delay before the motor responds to the radio, it might be cheaper just to buy a new plane

bro... complete bummer man.. I have also had that same plane... In fact you will laugh at this little story..

I remember getting the plane.. flying it that afternoon.. ruining it the same way you did.. and had it safely tucked away in the garbage before the wife even knew I had it.. lmao

I put my mobile phone into "airplane mode" and threw it. Worst. Transformer. ...Ever.

I feel ya. My first Micro Sukhoi xp suffered a similar fate. The second one is still going strong!

that little plane was great, had it for a whole year could never get over the fact that it would only last for 10 minutes of flying... maybe I'll try my luck on the new ultra-micro F4U corsair or mosquito, can't decide which one

If your into stunt planes, the "beast" from eflite is highly recommended. That mosquito looks awesome though. Have you tried any of the micro heli's?

Luckily my P-51's only needed a minor repair...after bouncing off a telephone pole the foam spinner was a bit loose so I took it off. Big mistake, apparently it's there as a shock absorber because a few minutes later a nosedive into an asphalt basketball court snapped the prop shaft off right at the prop so needed a new prop and shaft. At least the total cost was still under $5...

I know all about that little spinner, I nosed the plane into the ground once (ya, flying isn't my one of my better skills) and the spinner split in half and fell off, it saved my plane very well although and it was easy to replace

oh man, that e-flite beast can really move! I saw the intro video and it was insane! but I'm not sure why it costs so much? the micro p-51 is only around 100$ same with the sukhoi xp, the beast is 170$? sadly we get so much wind in Edmonton that I can't think about getting it until the wind dies down in the fall, as for micro helis, I have had about 8 wal-mart cheap ones that were really well made for 20$ I mean really well made, they took so much abuse from my bad flying I might buy a heli-max novus cp for a real challange, I hear it's impossible to keep in the air

Well, if you saw one up close you'd see. They're built really nice and much more complex than the P-51, not to mention the Beast is packing a brushless motor.

You can get all of these guys at model land or PM. The beast is a hefty plane, a little larger then the sukhoi XP, but like Chundler says its got a larger brushless motor, and runs on a special 2 cell lipo. I will be the first to say its got a LOT of power, iv flown it in winds that I wouldnt fly a large plane, and it handles great, half throttle and you can make it hang in the wind, but powers through it better and smoother then my large parkzone corsair. But it is a sensitive bugger so expo and dual rates is recommended. I own all these planes and the beast is by far the best micro yet.

I'm already in the process of fixing it, well maybe I should change my sig to "anything can be fixed with duct tape, zip ties and some times hockey tape"

Those parkzone planes will go such a long way without having to spend money. I have a bigger p51 and it literally has chunks missing, and a little ca and epoxy every once in a while and it flies! You have to squeeze the life out of those planes as far as you can, its a lot of fun.
