First off hello allI am in the east side of Cincinnati Ohio and I have only like 1 friend to scale trail ride with and we both want to find a group to scale with and or find a club who holds comps....... can anyone help please??? Or how would one go about starting a group or club??? Any help would be cool.

Welcome to the forums! The only group around here I know of that does scale comps is Hamilton Hobbies (1534 Plaza Drive, Hamilton, OH). They have one at their shop every other Sunday and are one of the only hobby shops with a decent selection of crawler/scaler parts I have found. As far as starting a club, I have no idea but would definitely be interested.

I'd be up for that. The comps are fun but there is a ton of downtime waiting for everyone else to run... I definitely prefer trail runs to comps, but either one works.

Well this Sunday is their next comp and i will be there!!! I went and checked out the shop yesterday and it has alot! Of crawler scale parts and stuff. And the owner is a vary nice dude. Gave me alot Of tips for running in a comp. My rig is more of a trail ride setup but I made a few changes for the comp Sunday. But ill set it back the way I had it for trail riding when I'm done Sunday lol.
I went to Hamilton hobbies scale rock crawl today for the first time ever in a comp and got 3rd over all in the scale 2.2 class sweet was good fu.. met some new scaling friends. And went on a cool scale ride after. Was good times.
Hey guys, I'm heading to Indian Lake this weekend for some camping with the family. Not sure if it is close to anyone, or if they have any decent trails, but since this seems to be the Ohio thread, I thought I would put this here in case someone is up for some scaling.

There are some hiking and MB Trails up in Northern Ky too - Union Ky, Crittenden Ky ..
If some are interested in a few weeks might try and meetup at one of em ... brave the cold

well im a noob to trailing and crawling havent even bought a truck yet its hard to make a decision im from cincinnati ohio glad 2 see other ppl from here once i get my truck if u guys have a club thats cool maybe we can get something going on i have about 2 weeks till i get my truck and still need 2 make a decision on what to buy anyway hope 2 do some trailing or crawling with u guys
i guss no ones wanting 2 start a club yet or ur waiting 2 see what truck im getting well probly a honcho when i get my truck hopefully u guys will want to meat up and do some trailing

I am sure that there will be some gatherings once the weather becomes tolerable outside. I know I am not much on freezing my buttox off in the cold friggin weather we have had the last few weeks.

My SCX10 chewed up its spur gear pretty thoroughly, so I need to make a trip to my LHS for a spare. After that, I'd be up for a run (preferably without hypothermia)
Going to upgrade to a Robinson gear? Nice metal one perhaps? I have used em in the past with great results. My Stocker is still going strong though ...
Not just yet... that was the first time I've had to replace it, and it lasted well over a year of serious abuse. At $5, I decided to take my chances with the stock plastic and just picked up a spare. All back together and running good!
True. The added weight though will help remove the ... jerky starts/stops. The more rotating mass, its going to be slower to start, slower to stop - plus they are bullet proof. Just food for thought.
I have a order coming from RPP - should be in friday, new Wheels, Tires, servo ... been working on my cage a bit here and there. Worked 69.5 hours last week ... not much time for anything fun. I'm hoping to go out Sunday, cold be danged!

I know what you mean about working too much to do anything fun, haha. Being home just long enough to get some sleep, then back to work.
What time are you going out Sunday? I have to work at 7pm in West Chester, OH, but might be able to make it out for a bit before that.
I live in Greenville Ohio and am about to buy my first scale crawler and looking for people to hang out and run with I have other rcs slash 4x4 slash 2wd summit and a drift king hope to find some fellow rc people to expand my knowledge and experience there are a few tracks close by but they are short course only I believe

@FordGuy you are most welcome for trying out the TSL's. I'm glad they got some real use. Since my truck was down somebody should get some enjoyment from them right? I'm putting some cut foam in them now, and sealing up that dang hole ...
Also wanted to thank FordGuy8790 for the sweet scale Chain & body Clip ties - as well as a pair of home made Snow chains. VERY cool!
