Losi MRC Digger Build

As the name implies I have plans on doing a Grave Digger style build for the Losi MRC.

I am making the build to be more for show than the go but will also have a regular crawler body and tires for it for serious crawling.

Parts are slowly trickling in and the chasis will be fairly capable crawler chasis and the Digger theme will just be shall I call it mainly for bling unless I can get the big meats and the body to co operate as I don't want to cut op the body.

Body is a Traxxas 1/16 digger and the tires and wheels are from the Exceed Maxstone 10.

I am in the process of making a front servo plate for a full size servo. More than likely will be a cheapo Tower-Pro high torque for the time being.
It will have a small 3 amp BEC to power the servo only. In the event the servo blows or shorts it will have the 5 dollar BEC to destry and nothing else.

Future plans are for a Tekin FXR and a mod 380 can motor or perhaps a 1/18 brushless system.

Well that makes 2 of us LOL.

The bulk of the parts including the chassis I should have next week.

Axle plates are made.
Front one is made to support a full size servo rather than the mini servo.
Rear supports holding the Gens Ace 2S 800mah LiPo.

The diffs are the Losi Front/Rear Metal Diff Gear & Housing Set #LOSB0941 and from what I can tell are about the rarest thing on the planet at the moment. Had a really hard time trying to get these. No one had them in stock and out of the vendors that said they did they were all wrong. Was lucky to find a set.



The lockers are the Hot Racing Alum. diff posi lock spool kit #MRC25X08. They remove all the plastic from the diff.

As they sit now waiting on the additional parts.





Plans are to make some new plates with 4 link mounts sometime in the future.

Still need to decide on either putting the esc and reciever on the upper links or make a plate for it. Leaning towards the plate for it.

Notice the 25mm wheel wideners front and back. Traxxas Mini 1/16 Revo Black Aluminum Wheel Extension Widener from the Toyz with minor modification fits real nice.

Still waiting on the drive shafts and motor/esc combo. Ordered a set of BW bomb proof link connectors for it as well.

I am pretty sure the Digger setup will be for light messing around and flat land though. In order to take it off road with the big meats I will have to jack the body way up to avoid rubbing. I may look into a set of Losi rock claws on a 2.2 rim though. They are not as tall and alot narrower.

Just an update do not use the 3racing drive shafts on this thing. First good run on the rocks and it sheared the pins right off the ball.

Other than that threw some 2.2 rock claws on it and it crawled like a bugger.
