    4dr Jeep JK

The Tesco supermarket in the UK were selling the New Bright Jeep JKs off over christmas so picked one up to use the body at some point £35 for a hard body and interior... bargin.

Well in between working on the wrecker and and a couple of other little projects I designed a chassis. It took some working out but I think it looks like I got the maths right

Here is the original drawing based arroung a extended x-trail style chassis.

The template attached to 3mm ally sheet

Then I drill a few of the holes and screw the two rails togeather and cut them out and file to shape to get two exact copys.

Chassis cut out and mocked up with some running gear

And with the body plonked on

This is the aproximate ride height as I calculated the shock length. 100mm shocks with some internal springs to bring the ride length to 85mm. This way the travel is mainly droop but it rides like its on springs but nor arch fowling (in theory). Body will be stripped of fake mud and paper stickers and repainted but will be kept as a 'weekend warrior' style truck.

Got this up and running now. Being a relativley simple build it just got put togeather and I didnt relly get to update this thread but I will flash the main bits up and hope to get a video soon. Not really sure what to do with the body. I have a thing for silver Jeeps ( I just think the colour suits them for some reason) So eventually will probably strip it back and respray in silver and detail the interior but it will do for now and untill it gets a couple of test runs.

Awesome, Been looking for this body, but all I find is the Silverados and the Range Rover. Thought about picking them up and selling them to help fund my next project.

Finally pulled my finger out and got round to removing the mud from the body. I had decided on Rescue Green for the colour but couldnt find it on the shelf here in the UK so had to get it mixed up but I am glad I did as it really finishes off in my opinion. I recently picked up a scale tent off the bay which came with figures which fitted the Jeep perfectly so swapped out my original driver and fitted a whole family.

    Onto some pics..................

Has she got the map the right way up ?
