Hello My fellow RC ADDiCTS!

In an attempt to continue providing you with one of the best websites I can – I have paid an external company to Upgrade our FORUM version to the latest software from VBulletin. The Website Home page and blog WILL BE AVAILABLE During the upgrade process. I have also paid to ensure that you will be able to connect with Facebook, and Access the forum THROUGH YOUR FACEBOOK! This is only the TIP of the proverbial Iceberg in new functions – SO!! Lots of neat things on the horizon for the New Year – This is a $500.00 upgrade, that will offer many new features to our growing community! I think it will be worth every penny.

1) Latest Version of the Vbulletin Suite: Ver 4.1.9
2) Facebook / Forum Integration (Very Cool!)
3) Vbulletin Install / Upgrade

I will touch on the finer points once things smooth out.

Fortunately, this means a Whole BUNCH of AWESOME is coming our way – but Unfortunately this means that there will also be unforeseen changes to our forum. This is our First MAJOR upgrade, so Im unsure of what to expect. I have customized the existing forums considerably, and there is no way to know what physical changes will look like.

With some of the plugins stop working? Will the look of the forum be completely different? Will we have downtime? I am not 100% certain – as this is always a shot in the dark. On a down-side what is going to occur, is unknown – but on the positive side, the benefits of doing this upgrade now – outweigh the negative potential for our community.

The upgrades WILL make the forum function differently – but as long as you are patient – and give me some time to re-code some of the things over the next week – our community will have more functionality for you, and show you things you have never seen before!.

Be rest assured – I have plenty of backups, I have the best technicians working on this for our community in an attempt to mitigate the downtime, if there is any at all.

Some things we may see during upgrade time:

1) Possible Downtime
2) Profile Changes
3) Slight loss in Posts (depending on when the forum is backed up prior to the upgrade)
4) Visual anomalies

This software upgrade is also new to me, and it will take a bit of work to understand it.

I strive to make this place a SAFE, Secure Environment for all members and visitors.

This is a MUST DO upgrade to keep us all secure!

As this is my first MAJOR upgrade to the forums since the inception of our community – I am crossing my fingers that permissions, users and everything is in tact when they are complete. If there are some anomalies – please keep in mind that this site is always growing, and preparing for a better tomorrow! I will take on new programming and needs of our community users as they arise.
