Good to see this coming together.

Say, do you restore furniture or do you have a very fancy workshop chair?

No restoring, just a couple fancy chairs we got dirt cheap at a show home sale, there’s a tv in there too, it’s the smoking lounge :)

I just finished the 3rd coat of epoxy, sanding and filling between coats. Made a start on the cockpit and gave that a sealing coat as well. While it is drying I fired up the lathe and made a couple drain fittings to fit Aquacraft rubber plugs. They will get epoxied in to the back of the Joe’s.

It’s a good idea on wood boats :) They are from the Aquacraft UL1 but I use them on a bunch of boats. Might be a good candidate for a 3D printer. (Hoping my friend will get one lol)

I made some fancier ones for the Executone from some fuel dots used for airplanes. Just milled the end off and used the plugs.[IMG]
Made a dash for the cockpit

Made a magnetic hold down for the rear of the cowl, still working on a pin or clip for the front.[IMG]

Hello Tombsy, I was wondering if you have a thread in here of your Smokin' Joe repair? I wanted to get a closer look at your FE set up. Cheers!

I have some more pictures I think I can post up. I'm camping with so-so wifi but I'll see what I can do. Any parts of the boat your more interested in?

Thanks Tombsy. I am mostly trying to see how your motor and electronics and batteries fit into that hull. And where the center of gravity is on that boat. Thanks again.

I found a few pics, but they are from before I stripped it down but it shows the layout. The 240 esc is heavy, right in the front, then motor, I moved the rudder servo to the back to eliminate the pushrod that was in the way of the left side 5s pack. Now they sit even tucked in either side just behind the coupler. CG is great at the turnfin or just behind.

Hi all, sorry I haven’t been around for awhile, I got back from my fishing trip and my wife had me looking at houses. Long story short we are moving to a new house, it’s kind of ridiculous we have 3 storage places for our toys so now we’ll be able to keep everything at home.
What a nightmare packing everything :), but I’ll be setting up my new shop in a heated 30x22 garage so bigger and better things to come.
