ok so if i were to go for the MMP route, pro4 or ROC412
That depends on how you use the rig, if you are into TTC/G6 type events I would get a Pro4.
Personally the Roc412 fit my needs a bit better, Trail with a bit of TTC mixed in.
thanks, now its just the trouble to find the motor in the uk.
wheelspinmodels.co.uk sells Tekin.
not in stock my friend, the two i would have chosen between are both out of stock, ROC412 3100kv and 2300kv
Try giving them a call tomorrow, maybe they have an idea when they will be back in stock.
ive emailed but never called, ill try, thanks for your help
very true! im running that set up in my wraith right now. very fun but not for crawlin at all. more rock bouncer! on a side note. I did one little jump with my vxl 2wd slash today and it cost me the motor and esc as well as my 120$ lipo. was a costly day lol o well sending everything in for warranty. Question: I have an older 2 pole vxl motor and the newer 4 pole out of the slash, when I spin the output shaft on the motor by hand the old is smooth and silky, the brand new one feels like a brushed motor when I spin it, is it cuz its 4 pole or is it toast??
Ok I have a question....
Is there a way to convert the 2 speed Wraith transmission to a 1 speed and if so would that help with crawling too?
Yes you can lock the 2-speed transmission in either low or high gear.
Yes the low gear will help with controlling the speed for crawling, but if it is locked the only low speed will be available, and low speed is very slow.
It isn't worth the effort in my opinion, a normal single speed transmission with a high turn motor (low KV) will be better and cheaper.
The 2-speed in my opinion is if you want both low and high speed.
One thing to remember is that the more moving parts you have the more things can go wrong.
Ok so what transmission would be good for a 1 speed wraith application and which motor wud be good?
That depends on how you want to use it.
But a Vanquish Alu transmission with Hardened Steel gears is a great start.
It is a bit pricy, but if you build it right, then it should be bullitproof, so you don't have to worry about it
I want to use it for more for crawling and a little bit of trailing.
I looked on Vanquish's site but it only pulled up transmissions for SCX10.
Is the wraith and SCX10 use the same transmission?
Yes it's the same transmission case, it's just reversed.
As for a motor a good rebuildable brushed motor, like Crawlmaster motors from Holmes Hobbies are a very good choice, if you are going brushless then the Tekin Roc412 is awesome, even for the price.
Is there an updated version of this anywhere or is it still valid?
