I kinda need an action cam to keep making rc videos and a go pro is really quite pricey. I was looking on amazon and saw some decent looking ones. Just wondering what you guys use.

Keep an eye on Craig's list or swap shops if you have a FB account lots of people are selling their used ones at a reasonable price then again new is a safer bet

I'm gonna be buying one of those GoPro knockoffs soon as well. I'm gonna be buying a 4K one. The knockoffs are getting better and better, there's really no point in buying a GoPro anymore. They're so overpriced, and they're not even that great. I hear some YouTubers saying the color perception on them isn't very good. Most of the knockoffs can be had for under $100. So, you're just paying for the name, but for those that like the name, they can keep going and paying an extra $300 or so. I think the new Hero5 costs $400

Probably within the next few months. Focused on saving for a Max6 for my CEN Colossus XT and a couple 4S Li-Pos right now.

Ive got a whole army of cameras. I still use my gopros more than any other.
But if your not looking for the absolute best quality. just about any of the new "clones" are nearly as good.

Here is what you are paying for with a Go Pro
    1. Build Quality
    2. Reliability.

If your a hard core action Junky and wish to share your adventures to the world.. then yes a Go pro is a wise investment..

If your Just after a cam to shoot RC Videos.. Any Camera that shoots in 720p will do fine..

A Floureon A3 will do the job...

Heck even a Vivitar will do for most RC applications!

I use one of the Chinese Go-Pro knock offs ( SJ4000 ) about the only thing I would at all criticise is the lack of WiFi as you can't really tell what you are shooting. This model may well be surpassed by now as I have had this one for two~three years.
I have no quibbles with its build quality or any thing like that .
Obviously it is not as 'good' as a Go-Pro but it was about a ¼ of the price.
Judge for yourself the quality :- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCM6AJMdmTIx9a4Tg8Lsxjgg

    Online review of it here:-

Guess what the new updated model has? Yup WiFi. :O)

Seem to remember it was camera and accesories and as a "special offer" there was an extra battery for £40 or so ( Can$70:00 ) . Mmmm after trolling through my past purchases, as I can't see it on Amazon website anymore, the actual deal was an extra battery and a free pen and the price was £56 ( Can$97:00 )

I have had pretty solid luck with our Kodak Playsport. Even taped to the roof of my HPI and rolled over a couple times. The little looking I did they seem like they have gotten more expensive since we bought it. The wife thinks she paid $80ish for it.

Yup £33 for all those accesories and the camera. Accesories say £20 leaves £13 for the camera RUN, FORREST, RUN !!

You're not going to find image stabilization in the cheaper knock off brands. That was one of the features that I could not find in a cheap camera.

The SJ400 has image stabilisation on stills but not on video.
