I don't see how you could go wrong with one of those.

What site are you on as I would probably suggest something other than the AE_5 ESC..
If they sell the Hobbywing Quickrun 1060 I would go with that as it tends to be a little cheaper

I personally would change the motor to a 35t or 27t. even with a 27t axial motor the scx102 could likely still drive around with you standing on it. lol
My buddy just went from a 35t to a 27t on my suggestion and he loves it. still tons of torque but a little more wheel speed. with a 55t you will be lucky to get up to walking speed.
everything ive seen with a stock scx10 2 was impressive.

That sounds like a sound theory.I'll try both and see what I like better.

2 speed kit will require a 3channel radio and extra servo ( and the 2speed upgrade gearset)... the flyskyft3b is inexpensive and 3ch out of the box... you can also get them pre modded for 20-30 more and they will do up to 8 channels ..
    .
cons of scx10 ii none that i can think of ... pros = cvd's better axles .. metal links ( even on the rtr) all steel gear trans ( kit only has the 2speed option)

35t and 3s is a nice power and speed balance ... does wear the motor brushes a bit faster. Or you could try )) whynots brushless combo.
    .
anoter good esc option is a Castle SV3. but inorder to run brushed motors you will need a field card or castle link... using low kv brush-less motors you can use the link or card to adjust the esc so the motor does not gitter on start up .. and braking power ...ect ... the card or link is also needed to adjust the volts on the castle bec ( hint card doubles as a link so it is the better deal)
    .
if you want the most awesome brushed esc the Holmeshobby BRXL is the ticket but cost about 110.00 waterproofed ( also castle link adjustable and has the strongest drag brake ever)

I ordered the scx10ii with the sec and the 55t motor. Then today I stopped at a shop in Tallahassee Fl. I picked up the bec a 27t motor, 2 savox servos, and a dx4e radio.

Cheap $15 light kit for a drift car will do the job. Headlights, high beams, break lights and indicators. Easily found on eBay!

GPower or 3racing from memory. They can be found for $30-$40, but that's way too much in my opinion.

Btw, on the radio is the grip on the steering wheel rubber, plastic or foam ?

On the dx4c the steering wheel control has foam on it.
