i've seen that thread and it's a pretty bad a$$ machine, looks good and functions great, most of my projects are more along the lines of rebuilds, like my 6th scale 36 ford, and my bullfrog mud corvette, i'm also trying to save a little at a time to buy a whole new rc, i'm up to about $110 now.

Yeah, I figure it'll take me 'til next year to swing the cash to build the rig. Gonna be some $$ involved. And me not working at the moment has put the brakes on a couple of things as well as my hobby. But I have enough parts (bins and bins) that I can probably get started on the "Winter Beater"... And I can fab up a lot of the metal parts I'm gonna need with what I have on hand...

it's hard to maintain a hobby like rc when you're broke 95% of the time, but at least you have spare parts to work with, most of my spare used parts are too far gone to use.

Too funny. At least I have my Trail Frog, which has only been run for 4 trail runs. Which is about 20 hours of actual run time total since I finished it in November. And the Blueberry Bronco Ascender is only a season old and still in pretty good shape. But for some reason, I have a whacking load of parts. But that's good...yeah...

Plus, it's hard to maintain a fairly normal life when you're broke 95% of the time. Been off work since February, and my savings are damn near gone. So much for my nest egg. Gonna try and get a job (at my local hobby shop) despite what doc says. And the not working thing is kinda getting to me. Messes with your head a bit when you've always had a job (since age of 12), so the idle thing doesn't sit well with me...

I'm on the way. Been off work nearly a year, burned through most of my life's savings, and getting a little "concerned". At a standstill due to circumstances. But, as dire as it seems, I gotta look at it as temporary. We shall see. Tomorrow will be okay, 'cause I'm gonna be working on some RC stuff that needs some seeing to...so, as Dory says..."Just keep swimming..." .

bout all you can do is take things one day at a time and hope things get better tomorrow, eventually, and with a little effort, they will.

finally making some more progress, ordered an scx10 frame brace set and tranny mount, plus a stainless scx10 screw kit, and the 3rd everest 10 axle, I also found some nice aluminum adjustable shocks I want for it.

well i've got the chassis braces in the chassis, and discovered i'm going to have to lower the tranny/mount otherwise my drive shaft angle will be way to steep, not a big deal i'll just make a couple lowering brackets out of some aluminum plate I have laying around. I also ordered some allthread for making my links.

    another minor update
I semi mounted the body to the chassis I just need 2 more rod ends for the rear, also I originally planned to narrow the axles, and did actually do the front axle, but I changed my mind tonight, i'll use the one I narrowed in my next f150 build, an extended cab dually, and get a new housing for this, i'm not going to have rear steer on this, even though the everest10 axles are setup for it, so I'll get a set of axial scx10 lockouts/straight shafts and use the dogbones from one of the rear axles to replace the ones I cut and ground down when I narrowed the front axle.

That is starting to look pretty good. What do you figure this thing is going to weigh?

thanks, i'm more than happy with the progress i've made so far, I think it'll somewhere around 8 to 10 pounds, it's actually feels pretty light, as it sits I would say it's around the 4 to 5LB range, but when I add the 2 rear axles, tires, tranny, steel drive shafts, motor/electronics and shocks I look for that to go up another 3 or 4 LBs at least.

So, about the weight of a BeastII... Okay. I always think these 6x6's are going to be so much heavier for some reason...

some are, like my monster 6x6 which weighs in at around 25LBs or so, not real certain but it's heavy/powerful enough to tow a 90LB child on a skateboard, but really the extra gear needed for a 6x6, axle, links, tires, drive shaft, frame extension, and shocks generally only add a couple LBs at most to an average 1/10th 4x4 trail rig.

I get around 35-40 minutes of run time on 2 2 cell 1200mah lipos, it has 3 motors, so I run 2 escs with a battery powering each esc.
