that didn't work like I wanted.
But this worked better than expected. I have the 100a one. And this is the kind of off brand lipos I use. I like them so far.
Looks to be plenty of power. 5500Mah x 0.001=5.5Ah x 35 C= 192.5 amps
They are under rated mah. I'm leaning it's closer to 6000mah. Because it's huge compared to my 5400MAH VENOM. and it's got wayyy more power than the venom. 30 bucks Us. I can flip it from half throttle. Or the venom is over rated. Bit I need to gear it higher. Motor gets warm but esc is cool
Try a tooth up. .. I like the turinigy Lipo's from hobby king . I have one 5600 mah 50-100c . and also run some zippy brand batteries also. Both brands are inexpensive. But preform well
I have yet to run mine dead. After 20 min they are around 3.8v per cell. But I'll change the pinion when I get home.
But is is also a 100a esc and only a 70a motor.
Sounds perfect amp wise. You want the esc to handle more than the motor draws. And the battery to have more than the esc can draw. .. In the end the motor demands the amps. So you have a 30 amp leeway on the esc. And plenty on the battery.
And normally I run 2 lipos in parallel. I could prob run fer an hour.
Well I destroyed my rear diff. The spiders can't handle this motor I guess. So buy a new front one and lock the old one for the rear.
I tried welding the busted one. Hardened steel doesn't weld.
Well. Jb welded the rear diff. Aside from the turning radious not being great on tar I like it thus far. My slipper screams a lot with this motor. Will almost do a standing backflip.and my gosh the trenchers aren't made for speed. But time for me to go exploring in the woods. Paddle tires or my trenchers. Hmm. I do need to get a heatsink for my motor though. After running it hard over tar, grass, mud, and doing some cyclones in a sandy road. It was around170f. It measured 140 after I got the body off. Around 40f here now. Esc is still ice cold.
Well I'm nor having good lick with esc's. I think I burnt out another one. My waterproofing skills aren't as good as I thought.
It's strange. It powers up and blinks like it's supposed to. But no power goes to the motor. I've tried a different motor. And a different esc. Something with the esc is facked.
Finally had enough and broke down.
You will love that system. Lots of power! However, they have been hit or miss for my as I have had one motor last and esc last for 4 years with no trouble before giving out. Then I have also had one esc last 3 months and the motor lasted 6 and it was the same problem both times with the motors. The end bearing on the motor shaft at the end of the housing gave way and needless to say they are not rebuildable so that's two useless motors. Hopefully you will have one of the four year systems, good luck!
I read somewhere that you should replace. Bearings every 6 months to a year
I didn't think these motors were rebuildable
i think there is a video how to rebuild a velineon brushless motors
I've seen that video. There are 3 different series of motor. All of which are rebuildable. It's just a bearing set.
