so im thinking about putting this in Castle Creations 1/10 SV3 Sidewinder WP 4600kV system to much power? and some more upgrades
i mean upgrade not build. but were do i remount the front shocks?
I would love to be able to say it's going to be a good plan to use it, But I am not that up to date on the brushless motors yet. So we need to get you a "pro" guy who does crawlers to help.....
PRO"S need your help here!!!
maybe we can get jaloos or Bubba J to help
Ya I would say too much. Unless you have beefed up the drive train considerably I would consider it to be a lesson in broken parts.
Also 4600KV is about 3 times as much wheel speed as I would recommend.
all gears are rc4wd steel gears but drive shafts are stock but idk what mm they are cause im wanting to upgrade them.
If you doing more crawling then trailing I would say put a 45t or 55t brushed motor, more torque less wheel spin and like jaloos said less broken parts...
but pros know the best.so what kv?
but i kind of want one like medic builds.
If you look at his vids, he uses a FXR and a 35 turn motor
the yellow bus
I have a 35t in my honcho and with NmiH it not to bad but on lipo 2s it a lot faster .......... we r not saying don't do it but you might break stuff and if you are on a budget like me I can't afford to break to many times.
so what do i have to upgrade to run that motor.
I don't think brushless likes the mud to much or deep water, where brushed don't mind it just flush it out with clean water.....
I am by far no pro, but I did stay at a holiday inn last night ROFL.
No seriously though try a brushless if you want. I would recomend MIP shafts and make sure your diff gears and lockers are up to snuff. As you have said your tranny gears are steel.
I would go between 1100 and 1800 KV.
You are also going to find with that a sensorless motor may have a fair amount of stutter and "clod" stall in a slow crawl situation. The sensored motors are supposed to be better for low speed.
Drag brake may also suffer from brushless.
As mentioned not all brushless will play well with water. Some do sensorless more so than sensored.
The SV3 pictured is a sensorless system, but it will run brushed motors FYI.
