Hey all, is this forum for jet boats only? I'm in to balsa ship building , with RC, and it's quite difficult to find Alberta based forums that is not just about fast boats. I'm building the Smit Rotterdam tug.
    thanx

Billings Boats Smit Rotterdam Deep Ocean Tug. In 1979 she was the most powerful tug in the world? Here's what I got so far.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Yes, keep it coming. Do you have a local boat club somewhere near?

Nope, there's no water in Lloydminster, AB. I don't know if anyone else is at it here. I've been here 14 years. Really looking forward to moving south this spring.

I just connected the dots of you being into "balsa ship building" and this model. Are you making this in balsa? If yes, how thick and are you planning to cover it with fibre glass or something? I guess you'll need several pounds of lead ballast to weigh it down, so no need to keep it light weight, and bumping into things will have a lot of momentum behind it, so I'd be concerned that balsa alone would be easily damaged.
