Hot glue! It makes mock up so easy. You can use pipe solder for the panels, but make sure the metal is clean and you are using the proper flux. I found the flashing is a bit thick, and if I had bought metal, I would have used something a hair thinner, but that flashing sure is tough and light.

I'd rather save and spend a little extra on quality parts than to rush and build using cheap parts just to get done.

Hello all. It's been a while but I'm still here and I'm finally ready to build Sgt. Grunt. I've ditched the idea of a metal body, not experienced enough, and decided to use two King Hauler Bodies to make a crew cab. I also ditched the plastic HPI wheels and Mud Thrasher tires for a new set.

The only issues were I had to change out the M2.5x8mm screws for longer 12mm screws. When I test fitted the tires they weren't long enough , with the tires set in the beads, for the nut to engage the screw. The other issue is that the foam in the tires are made from square foam tube which was glued together at the end to create a doughnut. This made bunched areas inside the doughnut and even areas on the outer part. [IMG][IMG]
    Had to fix this.

I remembered that I had some memory foam laying around so I started cutting. I cut the outer diameter of the foam about 1/2 inch larger than the tire to make sure the tire was filled. [IMG][IMG]
It fit inside the tire perfectly

Here's how the the beadlocks and tires look mounted. Think they turned out nice. Wasn't sure how the fitment and overall look was going to be but I like it. What do you think? Thanks for looking. Til next time. Peace to all.
