    With this years event being more aimed at true scale trucks, I decided to build something the average guy would be able to build. This will also end up being my "daily driver" for all our other outings. Kinda a kill two birds deal.

    I started out this morning with a borrowed body till mine shows up so don't mind the temporary shell. The new body will be a stock tan'ish color.

    Here is the parts rundown so far;
    Tamiya fj body
    Madhatter fab chassis
    Tamiya 3spd trans with spur gear mod for 176+to1 low gear
    MIP drive shafts
    Axial axles with 38/14 gearing and aluminum C's etc. . .
    GCM leaf spring mounts front and rear
    Custom Madhatter fab shocks
    Tires and wheels are still undecided, but most likely will be RC4WD of some sort.

    Here's a few picks of the progress from today.

    Very very very nice chassis Madhatter... and the leaf springs are a beauty. I recognize that Green Jeep body from last year.. i see he never cleaned the mud off of it.. lmao... Are those leaf springs going to be your only suspension, or are you adding dampeners? Im really diggin those tires.. nice and tall. This is going to be a great event.... as always

    Picked up some aluminum hi-steer knuckles yesterday so I can get my servo location figured out. I also ordered up some 1.55 Iroks. Looks like I'll be running some modded tamiya mini wheels.

    That's looking like it's gonna be a sick build. That thing shold be a torque monster and next to bullet proof from the sounds of it.

    Thanks man.
    Having the welder is nice I tell ya. I don't think I would have gotten very far in the hobby with out one.

    I got my tires yesterday, I'm just working on getting the wheels widened this morning. But heres a quick pic.

    Yeah I kinda like them. I might not even cut into these ones. There 4.5 supposedly but I haven't actually measured them.

    The wheels aren't bead locks. They are just the wheels off my old blue color jeep but widened out.
