the truck looks great, is the transfer case a custom built unit or did you buy it?

Bought it from ebay. Simplest and cheapest i could find but it has worked without problems so far. But to be honest it doesent have many hours on it.
Opened it and greased it up with good lubricant before i started using it.

Very nice, like the mismatched wheels.

    and...

    Talking about wheels:

As my own old military truck project progresses, I have to start looking for some proper wheels. These look the part and appear to stand quite some weight. What are they?
And by the way, which wheels and tyres are the ones on that Zil on the hook? They look like Tamiya Unimog / Hummer wheels, which i happen to have lying around, but I have Trouble finding tyres for them.

Both rim types are from eBay uknown brand but cheap. The ones on the kamaz are strengthend with stealwire wound around the hex on the inside and then covered with epoxi glue so not so strong without that mod but works with the mod. Cheap is the description.
The ones on the zil are copies of the Tamiya hummer rim with rc4wd flashpoint tyres. I did have to turn them inside out and cut the lip to fit the rims.

Thanks a lot. I think they look like Carson Steel Hammers, which are around 17 Euros a pair. That fits the "cheap" description. You reinforced the rim, but not the tire, did i get this right?
And the necessity to cut the lip sounds familiar. If I do that, I could fit the original Ripsaws to the Tamiya wheels.

Exactly reinforced only the rims around the hex mount.
