Oh yeah! *facepalm* I've been looking at it too as my dad had 3 66's. but I've never painted before and I'd have to make the cab white and body blue and it also costs a good bit more than most other bodies I can get.

Yeah I've been looking at it hard on amazon. Just wish it was closer to cost of most of the other bodies.

The chassis seems to be an SCX10 frame with Ascender axles...

I think they are just pictures of it on both chassis. I noticed the axial logo on rail but the careers diff cover.

I was just looking at prolines 2017 releases and was wondering if maybe I could use the k10 body from vaterra and prolines utility bed and still use the long wheelbase?

The Vaterra bodies are wide. Get the width of both, see if they'd work together. And that utility box is way cool...

And if you do the custom links, you can tailor your wheelbase to whatever you want it to be...

The whole thing is I want to be able to still put my blazer body on and have it fit fine as that is the most common wheelbase anyway.

[IMG][IMG][IMG] it looks like the bed and cab would be about a half inch longer which means it'd work perfect. Might go this route :)

The bed is also wider than the body which is more scale as the utility beds usually do stick out a good bit

being your first paint job take your time and be prepared for all involved you will want extra masking tape .. a drill bit to make the body post holes ( do them before painting ) and a nice pair of short stout scissors .. to trim the body ..
    .
first step is to fit the body by trimming and putting the body pin post holes in place .
    .
next is to thoroughly wash the inside of the body with warm mild dish soap water ( mild meaning not lots of soap.. and towel dry it .. after it is completely dry use masking tape to cover the body post holes and then with the tape and some news paper cover the complete outside of the body .. paint is applied to the inside of the body and the details go on first
so - you can either mask the inside or hand paint the door handles ect next the rust and pin striping If any ... then the main colors and finish with a backer color ... black for dark colors and silver or white for light colors .
you can watch some youtube videos to get more more tips and tricks

Thanks for the step by step. After considering the total cost of that I might not go with it but your tutorial is still helpful. Ugh decisions decisions.

Did some reading around and some people are using the k10 cage on proline cabs. The sr5 Toyota cab lines up great with it too!
