    Hi guys,

I'm planning on buying a ready made 4+4 (didn't have the times sign as I'm using my tablet) off road car. I found a great car its a Nikko VaporizR with 2 motors, 9 V battery, 6 V NIMH battery pack and a 1 hour quick charger. It's only £50. Does anyone know if it's a good car? According to the shop its waterproof.

Its a toy grade RC. There will be no aftermarket support as in hop ups and parts if and when it breaks parts will be impossible to get.

    My honest opinion "junk".

A Vaterra Kemora is more what I would suggest.

Ok thanks. How do I recognize if it's a Toy grade or a hobby grade RC?

Just do a google search and see if you can find any aftermarket support for what you are looking at. Nikko's can be fun till they break... And they do.
Save up a few more $$$ and get a hobby grade car, you will be happier!

The Quickest way to tell if an RC is toy grade or Hobby spec is first of all.. The Price.

The second thing to look at is the following that they have...
You don't see many subjects on an RC Forum in Regards to Nikko, New Bright or Mattel..

The Difference between Toy Spec and Hobby spec is the easily sourced upgradeable and replaceable parts..

A Budget Offroad Hobby spec Vehicle is going to cost more like 200 pounds....
We need to first of all establish what sort of Offroading you would Like to do ???

There are different RC's for Different offroad Driving.

Monster Trucks and Buggies for Bashing : Which is the art of Going crazy fast and getting as Airbourne as Possible and on a Budget... The Traxxas 2WD Monster Trucks are a good Start

There is Rally : Which is like driving a Real Rally Car like the Above Mention Vaterra Kemora

Then there is Scale : Which is like driving the Real thing which the Axial SCX10 is the king of.

Short Course : Its Like offroad racing using trucks that look like the sort you would see competing in a Baja Race : The Traxxas Slash is a Great example.

So we need a little more info... before we can provide you with the best possible help...

I was looking at a website which sells hobby grade RC Cars and I saw like you said the price is around 200. I am looking for a car which is a 4 X 4 but it's also fast. So fast and off road car. Something like Rustler XL-5 or LRP S10 Twister buggy

Be prepared to spend allot more than 200 bucks then.

I only suggested the Vaterra Kemora because it has a price of 149 bucks or so ready to run and shipped free in most cases.

Nice... That will do the job nicely.. You will need to factor in a Charger and Battery to go with it..
