well I have my new project all picked out. I have a german truck now I need a Russian truck. what to do? I really wanted something that no one else has done or at least I do not see to many of. it would be super easy to do a Canadian truck just pop over to the local dealer snap a bunch of pics no problem but not me lets make it really tough. I decided to do a Ural 6x6 not the military design I wanted the more domestic truck doing the Ural Next got the chassis that was easy I really like the HG-p601 the axel look very close to the Ural this is what I am going to try for

not going to be easy as it is another all picture build and I do not think this truck has been around very long
this is the more off road version

will post progress now that I have found another photo sharing site

nice truck, I like how the ural looks, it's actually pretty good looking for a Russian design, but then i'm used to seeing the military trucks not the consumer trucks, the only problems I have with the hg trucks are the crappy bushings in the axles and transmission, the weak drive shafts, and the 2n1 receiver esc, both of mine burned out within a couple weeks, I also think they're a little overpriced for a truck that's 99% plastic, although it does seem to be a decent quality plastic.

I agree to a point but then I have not had the issues that some have had with the hg platform as for the plastic it can all be replaced with metal my first hg is mostly upgraded to metal now but it is a cheap 6x6 and compared to other available 6x6 platforms the best buy

don't get me wrong I do like the hg trucks, and you're right about the fact the 601 is the cheapest 6x6 out there, the plastic chassis is actually pretty good and other than those few things I mentioned I had no real problems with the 2 hg rigs I bought, a 601 and 402, I even ran a 3300kv brushless setup in my 601 for awhile, the drive shafts held up okay for that, they lasted about 5 packs on a 3S lipo, I use the 402 chassis as a donor for my tonka roughneck project, unfortunately the drive shafts couldn't handle the extra stress of the heavy steel body and lasted only a few minutes,
