Can anyone tell me what a (dig unit ) is ? And maybe post pics of a better place to mount my ESC . I want to move my battery to the front but kinda wondering what to do with the receiver box and ESC.

from what I understand, it allows you to lock and unlock each diff separately. im not sure if you can do it with stock diffs or not.

I think most people put the esc and rx above the rear axle. really, you can get creative with mounting. you may have to make a mounting plate, too.

So I'm planning on building metal lower links today and was wondering if I remember right . It's 8/32 threaded rod I need right ? And can I use the extra ball ends that came with ?

Steel 8/32 threaded rod . with Traxxas ball ends. If you pick up some 8/32 nuts ans a 8/32 tap it makes it easier..u don't need the tap handle. If u have some pliers handy. Just hold the tap still in the pliers and screw the ball end onto it. And back off again. Makes getting the threaded rod in easier.l
    .
Before cutting the threaded rod put a nut on either side of the cut .. I use wire cutters. ( linemans's pliers or dikes they are called.) then use my dremel tool to clean up the cut. Then back the nut off. To help fix the thread.
    .
Optionally u can cut the rod with the dremel. Or a hacksaw.

Thanks Y2daT. Are the traxxas ball ends metal ? And is that why I should use them opposed to maybe steering them off my Redcat ?

The balls are metal. So you can snug the links all the way and have awesome flex.the plastic is tougher. I think the red cat ones may work . but I'm not sure. I've never broke one of my homade links. They are stout. And u opt for aluminium rod to save weight but it kills the price savings. And the links weight is towards the ground. Which is good .
In order to side hill great you need enough weight down low to counterbalance the body and stuff up high.

I have some metal balls . I would go get the traxxas ones but the hobby shop is closed until after x-mas . I'm going to do some serious crawling tomorrow so I want some metal links asap . I also got a sheet of aluminum to make side panels ,roof ,and hood . Gonna do the fast back MOD too . I'm a HV/AC sheet metal fabricator by trade so hopefully the body panels will come out good . Thanks for all your help . I'll post pics when I get this done .

So I have some gearing questions . Mostly just general . Like what is the difference between the different pitches on pinion gears . Different tooth count ? And also brands . Y2daT mentioned Robinson racing . What about Hot racing ? Or integy racing . And with the gears I'm looking for a little more speed . Merry Christmas
