I am just about to order a set of take offs from an SCX-10 RTR from E-bay. Can anyone offer insight for trail use, which one is better. They are both R-35 compound. I see that sellers that offer both want a few bucks more for the Maxxis, but then seen one Deadbolt reviewer on You-Tube who preffered the Ripsaws. Trail driving places like the Heart Creek trail is my goal.

I am on a budget build of thrown together stuff from a Dingo kit that was robbed of a few things including tires and wheels.

I think you will be happy with either tire... R35 Compound is rather sticky so I would just go with the one you like the look of best.

I personally think the ripsaws are better. I am very impressed with them!

I ended up getting the maxxis, but I think I will get one set of ripsaws with factory rims as well. Even with beadlocks, changing tires off rims seems like a pain in the arse. I am just going to wait until I get the body later this week, as I may have to go with 1.55" rims instead.

I like both, the ripsaw's are a bit more aggressive. But both are good tires thus far.

I've used both as well and liked both tires. to me the ripsaws did better with wet rocks. they kind of suction cup. and the treppadors are a bit taller as mentioned both do well in dirt and mud

I had ended up going with the Trepadors, but now find I need to downsize in order to fit my Silverado body. Looking pretty close at 4.19 & 4,18 inch tall Mickey Thompson MTZ and Mickey Thompson Baja Claw.

But may just end up with another set of new RTR take-offs Ripsaws with rims. 60 dollars compared with about 270 by the time I match a set of the Mickey Thompson's to Dick Cepek wheels. The Dick Cepek's are a little like the King shocks I bought. Totally outside my original budget, but once I seen them...

Got the MT Baja MTZ tires from my LHS today. Ordered a set of HM wheels from Asiatees last week. Can't wait to get them on so I can start trimming my body.
