The Powerstroke Shocks look great, and yeah the stock shocks (non Icon ones) are terrible.
I unboxed my SCX10 on Tuesday and it sat still for 1 day and 2 of them were leaking.
Let us know how they perform, many like me might be torn between them and the King 90-100mm.

The king shocks look fantastic. I have heard they lack performance compared to others. Purely hearsay as I have never owned them.

Last night I started doing some cutting on the body. Since I'm going to make my own bumpers, I needed to remove the fake plastic rear bumper from the bed. I have heard that using sewing thread works to cut straight lines so I tried it....

Other than using a lot of thread from breakage, it worked really well. Very clean cut.

Next came cutting up the rear to start the drop bed. I am going to wait a little longer to start he Styrene because I think I am going to make and move the shock hoops forward, using the space for a spare tire.

    Next came the front bumper......

I bought a set of RC4WD mud thrashers to replace the GMADE wheels on here now. They measure, according to the RC4WD web site a little smaller than these, which should fit inside the body better. Can't wait to see how they look.

I'm still a bit stuck on how I am going to handle the windows. This is a real sticking point because I want them clear to show any interior work. I have successfully made side windows from lexan I think will work. The rear can stay black, but the front window.......

Some body filler. May have to clean up after I get some primer on.....

    After some sanding and filing

Then I spent a few hours this morning making a spare tire carrier...Not complete as I need to add a retaining bolt. I'll steal something from work Monday.....

Today I build the inner fenders. There may be a few small changes but it pretty much all there.

Doesn't look like a lot until the body is on the chassis

I did more styrene work making covers for the bottom and an electronics plate for mounting ...... electronics. I also built some simple sliders that I attached to the outside of the cage.

Because of the way I molded the cage, I had to cut around it so the plates wouldn't hang and would sit flush.

I reinforced them with cross pieces for extra rigidity when contacting terrain and then fastened them to the inner fenders
    [IMG]

I molded a piece of styrene over the frame to have a place to build up when I install the electronics and battery.

    Simple sliders.....

Thought I would check in since it's been a while since I have updated the thread.

Most things on this build have been time consuming. Mostly been nice outside so I have been working an hour or so at night. I got the windows done and out of the way.....

I may have to steal some of your ideas. Went trailing yesterday and the front bumper was getting hung up on some of the rocks

I will post some of my drawings once I get it finished. I have a cad file for the plates and the main bar. I never made a drawing for the lower bar as this was bent and mounted by feel and where the upper landed.

Thanks guys. This bumper has taken a long time to get right. I'm almost finished with it. I'm hoping to post it finished tomorrow!

Super nice bumper! All you need now is to put a winch on it!

I got a chance to make the insert into the bumper out of some .020 aluminum panel and get it mounted. I am leaning on running a fairlead at which point the .020 won't cut it. I may change it to .060 depending on how I decide to run the winch for strenght. Lot's of options....

I have attached the CAD files I used to make the bend templates. Feel free to modify to your needs.

Install Librecad. It's free open source and more than enough for simple parts. It's also cross platform.
