Ok i have a basic Honcho small XL5 esc and 27t Reedy motor .....nothing fancy ... I have a 10ch devo flight tx I am using on this to make room for the tricky stuff ... I have already mapped out my controls to give me lots of options . I plan to beef up the power plant significantly but only after I have finished beefing up the drive train to hold the power .
I am defiantly going to be adding 4 wheel steering a winch and I have a couple more idea's I may reveal along the way .. for now it is a basic honcho with a little lift with clocked axles to prevent binding .

I plan to do updates with pics as I add or do more that I can show you guys . And I have gotten a new charge cable for my digital camera so my future pics should be better than the ones i posted.

k i couldn't wait any longer a just purchased an Atomic 19D motor ... the D stands for double wound ... so it has 19t rpm specs with double the torque of a 19t motor. and an El cheapo 320 amp 4s capable ESC .... as of now I only have my NIMH and 1 2s 4000mah 25c batt .....

all these extra controls give me lots of ideas ... and all channels function and can be adjusted for anything ...I am thinking of making an electric shift ..... like flip a switch and go from 2s to 4s ...
    and I would love to have a TF2 R3 2speed trans or maybe a 3 speed transfer ... I already have switches assigned for shift servo's .
My tx also gives me the ability for Telemetry so I can have live feed back of my temps ... Motor,Esc,battery eventually I will have allot of extras . but will continue to play as I upgrade.
    .
next on the list is to install the added castor Chubs to correct the steering on the clocked axles ... ( only need a servo and front cv's to have 4 wheel steering) so it may be soon

I will test it with the XL5 esc and let you know how it compares to the 27T I have now . You definitely want a motor that is rebuild-able if you like the mud ... I've stuck the 27t reedy and was able to take it apart clean it up and go play :)

I went shopping and picked up some supply's to attempt to make an adjustable ride height for my truck. because we all know tall is good for going over ledges and short is good for side hill-ing and climbing more extreme inclines .
    .
My plan is to have a servo controlled ride height so I will have the best of both worlds . on demand

:( well I have successfully broke all the taps .. attempting to make my lift kit .... so for now it is being put on hold until I can get some higher quality taps ... or come up with a new method .
    .
On the bright side of things my new motor and esc's are scheduled to be delivered today :D

well so far I am not impressed by extra speed ... my other motor is a 27T reedy ...vs the new atomik 19D ..( same esc and pinion gear).i have yet to put it through any hi torque situations ...like churning through thick mud . maybe it will show a noticeable difference ??

Servo controlled ride height? Im interested to see how this one works. Only ways I can figure would require a servo at the bottom of each shock pushing the bottom up and down to adjust the height im not sure if this would even work. How do you plan to do it?

actually you'r method does work .( only the servos attach to the top of the shocks) I plan to get a single high torque mg servo and mount it in the rear of the truck and make linkages to connect everything . then my servo will be controlled by a rotary knob on my tx . so I can set the ride height any where in between the max and min lift . so far I am using traxxas ball ends to make linkages ( like 4 links ) and a lift kit ... I have a design to use 1/4" square stock ( steel ) to make the actual lift setup .(n So I have to get it all cut tapped and welded to continue the build . ) Previously broke my taps and rendered the cut pieces useless.
    .
I will post pics when i get things built.
    .
check this thread out . this guy is using 4 servos to make a low-rider truck http://www.rcsparks.com/forum/subscription.php?do=addsubscription&t=13695

update I put the foam body on the shelf for now and picked up a rc 4wd D90 defender body with interior. Sorry if I disappointed anyone :( the good news is I have got a new job so money will be available to make some head way ... although some of my other hobbies and projects may interfere a bit . :)
    .
I have started making a custom body from 1/4" foam board ( available in the us at dollar tree ) it is simple to cut using razor blades and putting it together with hot glue ... quick and simple :)

its been a while and I have not made any progress on this rig :( but I got excited the other day and ordered a front SCX-10 axle .. so 4 wheel steering is coming soon .. Ive also got my servos in hand for the steering and lift system . and just yesterday found my missing dremel tool and attachments :) so the lift should get back underway soon also ...

well my progress is barley doing anything . I have little free time because im working crazy hours 50 + a week . so I have put the unfinished foam body on the shelf and purchased a Glendale hard body . and plan to make it look like a old safari truck for Steve to drive . I haven't give up on my ideas but most will have to wait till the cold months when work slows down.
I have added a 6volt BEC and it woke the servos up nicely. and also have added a set of hot racing internal spring 120mm shocks.

well today I received a D90 ( rc4wd land rover ) body :) and a set of Gmade air system bead locks :) I had planed to get a set of Imex red rocks to go on them but they have been discontinued and are sold out in 2.2 size . now it is time to do a tear down and rebuild on my setup . as i want to use the interior for the D90 hard body and will need to relocate some things as well as needing to loose a inch of wheel base to fit the new body properly . so I see a new set of homemade links in my future . my Steve erwin action figure is a bit small also he is a 6" figure maybe i need a 7 or 8 inch one ? lol ... twss ..
