Just a basic SCX10 with a Maisto Hummer HX Body attached.

Oh, no it’s not, my mistake.

This truck started life as a Dingo Kit I got December 2015. I got the kit because it was cheaper, not because I wanted a project. Little did I know that getting the kit version would teach me so very much on how to build and fix RCs. After seeing @TracaR 's HX build in the TTC videos, I was set in stone, I needed an HX.

    NEEDED.

    Specs

    Motor: Trackstar 13.5T 3040KV
Gearing: 23:54 with Traxxas 32P Pinion / Kimbrough 32P Spur
ESC: Hobbywing 1060BL-S in a homemade splashproof box
Servo: Bluebird something Metal Gear Analog
    Receiver: GR3E plastidipped
    Chassis: HPI Jumpshot MT TVP
Transmission: Full metal gears, some RRP I think
Front Diff: HPI Spiders with a BIC Spring for a Limited slip
Wheels: Some Hobbyking Doroifto rims that I painted black. I wanted some stock car steely rims but this is as close as I got. Now, I’ve found HPI made stock car rims so I think I’ll swap those over.
Shocks: Some eBay Chinese shocks with no oil and SC10 Prolite coils
Body: Maisto Hummer HX. I wanted a darker gunmetal color with red highlights, but I got lazy and too perfectionist and I wanted to move the project along. Right now it’s really ratty and needs some more touchups. Body is a hingeback with two hard drive magnets to hold the front down.
Batteries: I wanted to use the two 3S 5000mAH Zippy in parallel, but I burnt one 1060BL and don’t want to risk blowing another up. Now I use a single 2S 2200.

I think this covers everything. Got any questions? Comments? Leave them below! Now, some "beauty" shots.

Nice build! 3040KV seems high for a crawler.

    Thank you very much!

It is high for a crawler, as this is more of a trail / basher. The motor / ESC setup is sensored so I do have some good low end grunt, but nothing like what a brushed setup can do. My main goal with this truck was to have this truck kinda in a "sweet spot" so I could trail run and bash equally well. I wish i could fit a larger pinion / smaller spur and get a little more top-end, however with my Ripswa tires tehre's so much tire roll on turn that it doesn't turn very well on pavement.

My vision was to have a trophy truck / Bomber style truck, however without sway bars it just traction rolls and understeers, even with the open front diff.

    Thanks!

I like the originality of taking a monster truck chassis and putting crawler axles on it. Awesome build!
