hey guys i'm having a problem with my honcho. i recently got some new tires and there taller than the stock ones. now the motor and tranny is getting hot. not flesh melting hot but hotter than before. so should i get a new spur gear or a new pinion gear? and what tooth count should i get?

If you give me the diameter of your new tires, I can provide you with the gearing that is similar to stock.

Ok cool. 47x17.5x19,1.9's, mickey thompsom baja claws.
    Thanks drzoo2!
Oh and i also got the axial brand steel gears. i looked on the package and there isn't a tooth count on there so i'm just assuming that they are the same as the stock ones that were there.

Assuming your stock gearing... 87/20, dropping to an 18tooth pinion is identical in wheel speed.

Yellow in the chart is stock, green is your tire size with an 18tooth. You can see the end result is identicle

    Specs....
    • Outer Diameter: 4.75" (120mm)
