Ok........I am sure I'm not the first to think of this but i am sure its a dam good idea.

Take one Shock that has all the free travel of an paraplegic illegal immigrant and cut the offending ball mount off.
[IMG][/IMG]
Drill out the center cap to take an M4 tap
[IMG][/IMG]
Tap and clean the caps
[IMG][/IMG]
Mount the M4 studding and Ball-joint end to the caps and seal with a blob of glue on the inside of the cap

And balla bing balla bong Free movement

Now i did this first with and old set of shocks but i'm so happy with them i just might use um.

Just did this to a set last week while working on the Mantis chassis.
Did it on a set of SCX10 plastic shocks for now till I decide what shock package I want to go with, only need 2 for the front with Mantis chassis.

Lol. Well for a breath moment I thought I had a good ider. I spoz you just use a bolt on plastic shocks instead of studding.

Think its also for better movement and for being able to space them out from the chassis a little more, makes for smother less restrictive movement.

so do you guys put an oring around the screw or something to keep it from leaking shock fluid?

NO. an oring would just slip off as you tighten up. I used M4 studding and glue the first time I did this mod. But next time I think I will just use a bolt with a blob of glue to prevent leaking.
You could use a fiber washer to prevent leaking but I have not tried this its only a thought on my head.
Just be mindful if you carry this mod out that if you have any rubber glands or orings that they should be removed, as Alu shocks get very hot when dremel off the top cap lug.
Let us know if you think we can help anymore plus post your pics if you do the mod.

I used a button head screw and some epoxy. Let it cure well. I also add a nut to the top of the cap before the end link. This gives you something to get a purchase on if you need to change the ball end off the top.

I might just give um a try, they do look nice, plus i am going to order my mini T's and Spring cups from him.
I'll have to think on it, but its still an option for people who would rather buy than make.
