So i happened upon some ax10 axles and a frame in a trade. So i decided it was time to scrap my old AX-10 Scorpion.
Im actually going to miss it. it was a great rig.
but i never use it and i have a Mad torque that i prefer to crawl with. Bigger is better. lol

I should have taken pictures of the build but im to impatient to stop and click photos. lol
here are some shots of the truck as of now.

I stretch the front axel out as far as i could.

My rear links. I somehow managed to find enough mounts and whatnot to lockout all four axels.

My rear cab and flatbed mount. I made a pin and latch system that gets held down by a rubber cup that is mounted to the flatbed. it also hold the flatbed center.

This is with the bed down. I used a bike spoke to make a clip that holds it all in place once down.

The power plant is the novak rooster esc and 55t motor combo out of my ax10
    [IMG]

The bumper is scavenged from an old hummer body i use to run a long time ago. I made mounts for it out of some yetiXL body posts and reinforced it using some exo light bar mounts.

And this is what happens when you make a truck overnight out of things you already have laying around.
Look at that tear in the tire.

This post was really hard for me to post. ive been watching a live stream of a disturbed and breaking Benjamin concert while making it. lets just say im getting distracted. lol

Here is the video of the first test run.

So today i spent a good part of my evening tinkering. Ive changed the tires on the front rims. lengthened the rear links a bit all around. added some matching aluminum links the the rear axle set. swapped the shocks i had in the back for more scx-10 shocks. made the front shocks a little longer and added a flashing light i made to the top. ohh and also some side mirrors.

    its looking sharp i think.

I also managed to get two more videos made tonight. these are from my trip out with RC_Psycho
and his new 6x6 rig he's building.

Not bad considering my plan was to relax and take it easy tonight. lol

I made a few more changes. I swapped the cab off my other truck. This one looks better as a hauler i think.I also wired up some running lights.

Ive also had it out in the trails again since i lengthened it. it still crawls just as good. :) i should have a viedo made by the end of the day.

did not realize ive not updated this thread.
got a few vids to share. lo
    l

I changed my third link geometry in this one. althogh i did not like the difference it made. Ive got another plan to make mounts to the frame raild and make the rear axel completely idependant from the middle.

Some exciting updates for my 6x6. Ive added 20mm hub extensions. widened the shocks stance on the axels. and changed up the rear link mounts. they now mount to the frame as well as the middle axel. I also Go a beautiful red winch hook. :) I took it out for a test run today.

when i got home the mail lady showed up and dropped off my 130mm 2.2 wheels, they are not beadlock. but for the price i paid thats quite ok.
Here is a look at the chassis.

Im now running it off a 3 cell lipo. and have wired a 10 amp brushed esc to the 3rd channel to run the winch.
Had it out on the trails and took a few pics. i think its turning out great.

i gad to raise the body and flatbed in order to clear the larger tires.

the next upgrade will be metal transmission gears. i stripped the idler gear after filming our trail adventure.
it might end up with one of my secret weapon motor/esc combos in it.

rigs working great. Here are a few vids from the test run :)

gonna give the tires a shot of wd-40 to soften them up. other than that no complaints.
I also had to raise the suspension in the front. she looked like it was tilting forward. This beast is getting bigger every day. lol

i have no experience with redcat at all. so i cant say for sure. your best bet would be to download a manual for it and search the part Numbers.

The Everest 10 does have metal gears. But, the locker is plastic. They do sale a metal locker, but if you do a little modding, an scx10 locker will fit. I have a Everest 10 and an ax10 scorpion with redcat diffs. The plastic locker is the only trouble I had. I also have the 540 27t.

Iv actually done quite a few upgrades to this beast that i forgot to add to the thread.
Ive installed the Jazrider Heavy Duty Gear Set in the transmission. and slapped one of my secret weapon brushless combos in it. It works much better than the underpowered 35t novak system i had in it.

This truck absolutely kills it over the rocks... how did you film the video? Was someone following the truck on foot with a low camera mount? It's awesome, but I can't help but feel pain in my knees just thinking about it :)

I really like that 6x6 tow truck in the winter video. I don't think any of my 6WD trucks can crawl like this at all. They're all too heavy and geared too high!

I use a 3 axis brushless gimbal on the end of a selfi stick :)

Got a few updates. After upgrading a few trucks. mine and a friends. i ended up with enough spare parts to lockout my rear axles. :)

    starting to swap them out.

and all finished up. sure reduced the slack in the wheels.
