Hey guys bought a brushless slash 4x4 and im going to start racing at the nearest track, The truck is completely stock so far, except for traxxas big bore shocks. Any recommendations before I begin racing it? And what should I upgrade first and upgrade to what, as in brand/model?

Get used to the truck first do a few races then you will know exactly what you need to do

    Mostly gearing changes
Throw a Momba system in there and change driveshafts and tires

Personally coming from racing , specifically 4wd and 2wd I whouldent put a mamba in it , to much power not enought traction heck, a 3s in a vxl I can hit 60 mph, no need for a mamba

Im running a MM 2 in my slash 4x4 & she's an animal, insane power, I had to get used to throttle control. I changed out the stock axles for mip cvd's, mip 17mm wheel adapters & the big bone drive shaft. Im running 4s lipo.

Yes the 3s in Vxl3s means that the motor and esc is capable of running 3s, but that doesn't mean that it is will be a good idea in all applications.
It works very well in light rigs like 2wd 1/10th scale rigs, it won't last long in heavier rigs like the Slash 4x4 on 3s.
