yeah I know, I finally found at least a trailer for the Tonka car carrier I wanted to do, got it cheap, $17 shipped, it's rough but no real rust, just gotta get a truck for it. fortunately most of the Tonka trucks shared a chassis so I should be able to use a dump truck for the cab.

I was thinking of deleting the factory hitch and using a tamiya 5th wheel and pin.

I was moving some stuff around earlier and set the Tonka trailer off to the side, sitting right in front of it was my knight hauler body, and noticed they fit perfectly together, same width and scale, so i'm thinking of building a full on custom semi chassis and using either the globe liner cab or the king hauler cab, just need to decide if I want to go off road or on road.

got two actually, just didn't have them downloaded yet, not sure if I like it like this
    or a little closer together
I think i'd go with solid mounted axles, get some bigger tires to make up for the lack of articulation, it's a heavy rig already add the weight of a towed vehicle or even winching one may be a lot of trouble to find shocks that can handle the weight

id go Leaf spring ,or hard mount rear and scx10 style front .. so all the articulation is in the front axle , while the rear stays firm ..

I was thinking, after a good sanding and a few coats of primer, of going with dark purple from the top of the trailer to the bottom where the fifth wheel pin goes, carry that back to the bottom of the center bar and along that line to the rear, everything below that would get a nice coat of satin black, match the rig to the trailer with black bottom and purple on top, if I go with a globe liner cab over body, or black fenders and purple cab if I go with a king hauler body. by the way purple and black is my favorite color combo, next would be red and black

think i'm going with my 1st street/light duty off road with it, that trailer is heavy and would be a major pain to pull through mud or any thing rough, but back to your rig, I feel like i've hijacked your thread, sorry bout that. you keeping the stock color scheme, leaving the patina, or going for a custom paint job?
