I've found the stock 30wt oil on 2wd Traxxas vehicles to be a bit weak for general bashing around, particularly if you plan on hitting jumps a lot. I use 45wt all around and it seems to be a lot better, to me at least. But it all depends on what your preference is and what type of surface you're driving on. The nice thing is you can experiment with different weight shock oils as well as spring rates. The stock Ultra Shocks can be customized quite a lot.

My 2wd slash keeps poping the front cap off the shock body like the threads were shot. I replaced the cap with one from an an extra traxxas shock but that one poped too. The threads are all nice and clean anyone else have this issue? Its only the front right. I do beat the hell out it and my 4wd too but no clue why this one keeps spraying my truck wit shock oil from time to time

You need aluminium shock caps - stock shock caps are to elastic and they just keep poping off.
