How about a Castle Creations combo? I would suggest a Mamba Max Pro with a motor combo.

pretty much any of the castle momba setups will be great. honestly tho. unless your going for land speed record stick to 2 cell lipo. over that and youll be breaking parts all the time. and it will be plenty fast. lol about the only difference you get from a 2wd with more than 2 cell is rocks in youir face at high speed, ballooning tires that make you crash, and broken parts every time you go out. oh and overheating issues.lol

I run a castle sidewinder 3800 with 3s. I'm very happy with this setup. ... what you got in there now?

Brushless is way to much power for a Stampede, don't upgrade it

You may have to upgrade the drive shafts, but i wouldnt say its too much power.

I broke too many things, so I put my brushless system in my Losi XXX-SCB and its a lot better and I need more power for that (lol) so I'll be getting a SMC 3S lipo

Im never really satisfied untill i break something. .. gues thats why its called bashing. Run it til it breaks then build it stronger and run it harder, then repeat

Size the electronics to the application. Unless this system is getting put in every scale rc you will ever own, understand what your after. A MM pro or RX8 are monster ESCs and would do the job but they are rated for 1/8 scale 4wd setups. A Sidewinder, 3800 2pole on 2s in a 2wd light rig will be a handful. Your leaving a lot on the table at a high cost oversizing for the application
