Prob a good idea better safe then sorry.
You bet is a good idea my friend. Snow is just frozen water and with the heat of the electronics working, you probably are going to get water around your rig..
Better plasti-dip your electronics.. (not waterproff but water-resistence in any case)
You should make a waterproofing video of Axial original new ESC.
If you understand what i mean, the one that came with your Wraith.
Gerat video's..I will be watching these again once I get my Honcho! !
The plasti-dip is a good solution, and can work very well, given you dont cover the heat sinks, and make sure u fully seal it. theres also another product called 'CorrosionX' that i want to try out. theses an impressive vid on utube, here >
How to waterproof your Mamba Monster Max using CorrosionX With PROOF! - YouTube
I want to try this, but cant find it for a reasonable price in Australia, or anyone who can post it out, without surrendering either an arm, or a leg. theres also an Aviation variant. the more u read on this stuff, the better it sounds, anyone had any experience with it?? alternatively, anyone can post a bottle to me for less that $30-$40?? Whatta u nreckon?
This CorrosionX could be very helpful and promising. I am still a bit skeptical so who else wants to test it?
Looks pretty good, but I'm not a believer until I see it first hand and/or talk with someone that I believe I can trust. It may work for the first few times in the wateror mud, but how do you know it's time to re-treat your electronic's for that one run that FRIES EVERYTHING! !
How Do I Waterproof My 27mhz Receiver with Crystals?
Just one question...when using the Plasti Dip, how can I waterproof a receiver that has crystals and still be able to change out the crystals when necessary?
Hey Guys, I have never seen a waterproof box tutorial, how do you make these?
What about the capacitor that gets soldered on the fxr?
i'm under the ruling of "if electrical current flows through it, dip it!!!" apart from the battery connectors.
so i'd water proof it for sure.
Thanks Medic! This is certainly going to help me with my new Dingo kit! Keep the vids comin man!
Medic awesome job! Thanks for the vids.
I found the tutorials on how to waterproof an rc very helpful and hope to waterproof my HPI Maverick strada sc. Thanks for the tutorial vids medic. Really appreciate it.
So just to give you a valuable info: PlastiDip also comes in clear (kind of transparent) color. That can come very handy for some applications where you still have to see what was written on the ESC or the receiver.
that would be great for ESC!!!! too bad i cant get PlastiDip in Aus. LOVE to get my hands on some clear!!!
I got red plastidip in aus.. Postage was through the roof because its classed as a dangerous goods I think, but hell cheaper if you buy online from over seas.
Yo Greenie, get one of these if you can. I'm pretty sure you can order one from a country near by (and avoidign crazy shipping costs and duty taxes)
Well I've just bought the liquid electrical tape from Jaycar so we'll see how that goes. (and of course we only get red or black)
However having a look on the plastidip australia website, they say that they are opening their online store from 8th October.....hang on that's been and gone!
Oh well still nuthin!
LOL!!! that would be right!! LOL!!!
Ebay Australia DOES DOES have some on there :O_O:
Liquid tape works well, but would like to be able to compare it to the real deal
