How can I get more wheel speed from my rc4wd 55t crawler motor it has good torque but I feel like I have it under geared my gearing right now is a 28 tooth pinion and a 92 tooth spur gear. Or is this a good setup?

Probably not going to get much speed from that set up unless you drop to a 37T motor. If you're running 2s Lipo, going to a 3s might give you a little.

But yeah either going to a 37t motor, or changing your gearing a little are probably your main options.

Try switching to a 2s Lipo then. May help a little bit. But I still think to get more wheel speed you're going to have to change the motor or the gearing.

They arent that bad.... .$100 should get you a venom lipo and charger.

I bought one form my local hobby store for $50 (charger) and $50 for 2s 5000mah 25c venom

Honestly you could try down sizing your spur gear to something closer to an 80t and see how much that helps

Its kind of a play around situation, because you can gear it and get the wheel speed out of it, but kill all the torque, or you can have an insane amount of torque, but no speed... You just have to find the right balance between torque and speed

one downside is I just got the motor for my birthday from my dad (he can be a little more knowledgeable but hard to work with) and he really likes seeing me use this motor I love the torque and the motor doesn't overheat now but I have no speed but like I said ill play with the gearing

on a 55t you can gear it way up and still have lots of torque. id try 25t pinion and 80t spur.
you will gain some wheel speed. its never going to be fast. unless you go higher voltage or lower turn motor.

35t on 3s lipo is the sweet spot for a trail truck if your sticking to brushed setup.
I myself prefer brushless. you get what you pay for in this hobby. that is a certainty

definitely ill try to find a 80t spur gear and about the get what you pay for its definitely true. eventually when this motor gives up ill get a brushless setup probably nothing expensive like a goolrc setup ik you guys are gonna say thats the worst but its what I can afford lol
