The Maverick Scout is more of an Entry level Rock Crawler then a Scale/ Trail rig...

This has been exceptionally helpful. Still undecided between the Axial Dingo or RC4WD Trail Finder 2 but at least I understand the differences between the two more than I did before reading the thread. Perhaps I'll end up with both.

Solid info! Some interesting rigs there.

I really want a TF2... But, you're right about the prices! That's why I've been putting it off :tttt:. I may lean toward the scx10 this summer instead.

I don't have any firsthand experience with a TF2, but with a little elbow grease, an SCX10 will take almost anything you can throw at it. Mine is still going strong and has taken way more abuse, water adventures, trail crashes, and dust/sand/dirt/mud than I would have ever guessed. The only things I have actually had to replace are a spur gear and a transmission output shaft (I had an old style one that used set screws and tried drilling it for a screw shaft. It held up for about 6 months).

just found the tread great info for newbies. im a axial fan big time when it comes to trail/crawlers however i just picked up a cro1 kit and ordered the new dead bolt in hopes of starting a axial tread honcho vs dead bolt just to see witch is the better truck just waterproof and hit the course. my little girl thinks her deadbolt is better than my honcho will release reviews/pics/vid as soon as i can and see what everyone in the rc nation thinks. great tread fordguy8790

I just found a truck that I would like to know more about as it may change my ideas and choice for my scaler...

Obviously I like my Fords, hence my original choice of the cc01 bronco, but let's be real, lexan bodies are a dime a dozen and I am a decent painter... I am also a fan of the old jeeps, pre-chrysler buyout... This kit is a bit more pricey than the cc01 at rc4wd but it looks fairly capable, and I already have some decent wheels and tires on order from them (well OK, I will be ordering them as soon as I am done here.

Just so it's known, this is not for tough truck challenges, but for nice trail runs with my wife, I don't need all the crazy articulation of the scx's and such, that's another truck on another day.

I know this is a new truck, but does anyone have info on it?

The wheels and tires, on order as we speak!! :evilish:

    Gelande 2 help?

    Hello!

I'm new to all this RC trial trucks and I have been reading through thousands of different threads but just never seem to find the answer that I'm looking for!

I have recently been looking at the Gelande 2, mainly because it is a scale model of a Land Rover Defender. But the price is quite a lot so I want to know if I am making the right decision to buy one? I am thinking of getting one and maybe adding a few different mechanics to it, that's if they are even needed? And making it into a nice RC scale model of the Land Rover I have at home, using all the accessories that are out there! I was thinking of getting the Gelande 2 shipped over from the US rather than purchasing it over here for more money.

I also would like to try and find out what sort of things would need to be upgraded on the chassis? eg. Motor, suspension... This is going to be a big project for me as I have never done this before. All replies will be very helpful!

    Thanks

    Jack

And still be able to stand up to the bashing and for a arms wat would be better for bashing alminum Like integy or plastic like rpm? Again im totally new to all this so dnt mind if some my questions are commen sense ish lol

Hello I'm a new user and I'm might buy a new RC and I'm stuck between trail finder 2 and scx10 I have 5 questions and I need some recommendation.

1.Do they both have 2 speed transmission?

    2.Are they both updateable?

3.Would another RC car be better?

    4.Are they durable?

    5.are they easy to fix
