aahh, thought I had the lid all sorted. and was ready to test......
    :faill:

pins I glued on, popped right off!!!!
    :slow:

the type of plastic its made out of, is super slippery, and it fell off with the slightest of pressure, even after a sanding to rough it up.
going to try epoxy and screws this time.

hoping to get some work done on it this weekend, all going to plan, as a mate Lee, wants to go out with his Tear Into too.

Chances are you are dealing with polyethylene plastic... There are no adhesives for this type of plastic. the only way to attach anything is either mechanical fasteners or heat welding of the same material type... http://www.eplastics.com/polyethylene-adhesives-glue look and see if there is a stamping HDPE or LDPE then you know for sure it is polyethylene...

    cheers for the link.
I have a suspicion that the stamp was on the ballast on the bottom, which was removed...... opps.....
but will have a look tonight when I get home and see. might have another duck or two stashed in a box somewhere tho.... hummmm.......
But been pondering on a physical mount with a screw for a while now, and with winter fast approaching us down here, I think its soon time for me to start working on the boats amongst the other projects on the go.
